Procurement of ICT Equipment In year 2013, the ICT Division managed to secure a very limited allocation from the State budget and Heart of Borneo (HoB) project (Federal Fund) for hardware and software maintenance, procurement of ICT stationeries and equipment. The GIS and remote sensing workstations, microcomputers and peripherals acquired under the State and Federal (HoB) funds, are listed in Tables 11.2 and 11.3 respectively. Maintenance of ICT Equipment The ICT Division continued to carry out preventive maintenance for ICT equipment at the headquarters and all the twenty seven DFOs throughout the year. The repaired and upgraded ICT equipment are listed in the following Table 11.4.

Maintenance and Installation of LANs (Local Area Networks)Regular maintenance of LANs was carried at the headquarters and District Forestry Offices (DFOs) throughout Sabah. Many problematic and obsolete LAN accessories were replaced and upgraded. A number of new LANs were also installed at various Divisions and DFOs. All the upgraded equipment and new installations are shown in Tables 11.6 and 11.7.

k@Borneo PortalThe ICT Division continued to arrange assistance from the Tun Haji Mohd. Fuad Stephens Borneo Research Library of Sabah Foundation (Yayasan Sabah), for scanning books published by SFD. In 2013, twenty three copies of digital books were uploaded to the K@Borneo portal as listed in Table 11.8.

Many students from the same Institute have been sent to the ICT Division for pracitcal training. She was assigned to carry out basic regular maintenance of computer hardware, computer viruses screening, managing the stocks of computer stationery, etc.
