Objective – I•The proposal aims to establish an ICT School for Empowerment of

Women which will aim to act as a central resource centre providing

facilities helpful in livelihood generation.

Objective – II

•The School is visualised as a resource centre which will build capacity

and provide trainings to the women members of SEWA and members of

local communities of Gujarat and Other states in various sectors.

•Project plan to cover more than 2,40,000 members in Gujarat, and

exposure to more than 5 organisations of Bihar.

1) TOT in different micro enterprise development and

2) Improve livelihoods through enhanced use of ICT3) House a Community Media

Total 20 CLC’s will be targeted through the project while 11 districts

will be targeted through the community media

Overall ApproachOverall Approach

• Poorest of poor should access ICT related services and they should also benefit from the technology..

• SEWA has more than 1 million members spread across 9 states of India. 2/3rd of SEWA’s members in Gujarat are from the rural areas.

• SEWA has members in the remotest of the villages who do not even have access to basic infrastructure facility. Through its CLC set-up for cluster of villages, SEWA provides these members with ICT

• By providing them various capacity building trainings, SEWA’s aim is to convert 2,40,000 members into entrepreneurs

CLCCLC’’ss• An exposure will be given to a group grass roots leaders from 5

organisations of Bihar

•Group will be having combination of activities in different sectors of

livelihoods, education, health card and capacity building

• A team of SEWA visit to the same organizations in Bihar for further

handholding

•Needs will assessed and also handholding for setting up CLCs’ will be

explored

• Indentify Micro entrepreneurs and TOTs during the visit of SEWA

• Vocational and managerial training of trainers will be provided to Bihar

Group’s

• Support TOTs of Bihar in setting up CLCs at identified places

• Monitoring and Facilitation to Bihar Group’s TOTs

Innovation in project: Innovation in project:

Community MediaCommunity Media• With a view to increasing awareness among the communities with fewer

resources, SEWA has started using the concept of Community Media. The

mass community will be reached through this innovative approach.

• For this broad casting or narrow casting of the programmes will be done in

the rural areas among the community

• These programmes will help in enhancing the livelihoods of the

communities

• Community friendly material will be developed for the purpose. This

material will be developed in consultation with the community at the grass

root level.

• e-Media by our own Website and also avail this all Content online on

YouTube and other local website.

• The project will provide direct trainings to 3400 trainers.

These trainers in turn will educate the community using the

innovative approaches of CLC and Community Media

• Thus the indirect beneficiaries of the project will be More

than 2,40,000 members will be benefited through the

project in 120 villages, 52 blocks and 6 districts of Gujarat

and Bihar

• Employment linked training – These trainings will also

help the members to undertake newer livelihood

opportunities and help them in enhancing their existing

livelihoods also

• Access to education and health
