DISADVANTAGES OF ICT

Your students will have varied skill levels.

You are limited by how ICT is valued in your school e.g how much equipment you have.

Technology does and will fail you, when you really need it!

Slow internet connections / Slow network.

Being blocked by host server(internet).

HOW CAN WE USE ICT IN ENGLISH

From practicum you would of realised the scope and use of ICT.

To present visual material effectively (e.g Simone’s Static image PowePoint).

Computer are used for core of students research assessments.

Using School Zone or Wiki’s to upload notes and extension work for students.

KEY TIP

Next year you should be supplied with your own laptop. Don’t be afraid to have a play around with your new toy.

When you initial use your laptop/projector hit F5 and Fn (function key) and it will then bring up menu so you can set your setting for the projector.

Get familiar with all of the Microsoft Office Package e.g Word, Power Point, Publisher even Spreadsheets to record your marks electronically.
