CONTENTS
3 Updated to 7th July 2014
This publication contains details of rolling stock, as listed on the Contents page, currently operational or stored on the various Network Rail, Preserved and Private railway lines / sites in the UK.
All locos are listed in one section. This is due to the now less distinct differences and the frequent changes between operational and preserved / private status we see on today’s railway.
Entries are made as follows:
Locomotives: Number - Details - Owner - Livery - Operator - Pool - Depot/Location - Prev Number(s) - Name
Diesel and Electric Units: Unit No. - Details - Owner - Livery - Operator - Depot/Location - Formation - Prev No.(s) - Name
Coaching Stock: Number - Details - Owner - Livery - Operator - Depot/Location - Prev Number(s) - Name
All codes are listed, the back of this book. Please see the contents page at the front for details. In the Depot / Location column, a value in brackets eg (TO) is a storage location.
We hope you enjoy this publication prepared by Inter City Railway Society. If you have any comments or know of further additions or amendments, please contact us either via:
New Loco deliveries have increased as we get closer to the end of 2014 and the new emis-
sions regulations come into force across Europe with all 10 Colas Class 70s now here, the DRS Class 68s being delivered and the first ‘boat load’ of new GBRf Class 66s on it’s way across the Atlantic
Colas’s first Class 37 and Class 60 are now overhauled and out and about.
Rumour is Colas have ordered another 10 Class 70s too...they’re included just in case!
New Thameslink Class 700 EMUs are all listed as deliveries are due to start later this year
The Thameslink ‘stopgap’ Class 387 EMUs are now under construction at Derby
More Class 350s have been delivered to London Midland and TransPennine Express
Southern’s Class 377/6s are all delivered and 377/7s are well underway
The first Class 319 has gone north to Allerton for future service with Northern Rail
The first of Manchester’s T68 trams have gone for scrap
Edinburgh’s tram network is finally open and running
First Great Western are converting First Class coaches into Standard and Composite coaches
to increase the amount of Standard Class seats in their HSTs
In order to keep this book up to date in today’s rapidly changing railway scene we rely on both official and unofficial sources. ICRS would like to thank the following individuals for their valuable contribution to bringing you the most up to date and accurate information possible:
