ICOS ERIC MEDIA KIT ICOS ERIC IN BRIEF ICOS ERIC is the Integrated Carbon Observation System European Research Infrastructure Consortium, whose main role is to coordinate and integrate the whole ICOS Research Infrastructure. ERIC is a specific status granted by the European Commission for research infrastructures of European interest. ICOS ERIC Head Office, located in Helsinki, Finland, works towards building the ICOS Research Infrastructure identity and securing that the distributed Research Infrastructure will operate as a strong productive actor both at the European and global levels. ICOS ERIC operates on a non-profit basis. In addition to coordinating the operations of the entire ICOS Research Infrastructure, ICOS ERIC provides integrated data and analysis from greenhouse gas observation systems, and supports the scientific and technological developments in ICOS Research Infrastructure, including facilitating the outreach, training, and mobility of participants. Every year, ICOS ERIC coordinates and contributes to several international high-level conferences and meetings, such as the annual UN COP conference and GEO Plenary. It is also overseeing organisation of the biannual international ICOS Science Conference. ICOS ERIC is coordinating the EU Horizon 2020 project RINGO, as well as taking part in the RISCAPE, SEACRIFOG, EOSCpilot and DANIUS-PP projects. In addition, ICOS ERIC is also co-coordinating a recently launched GEO Carbon and Greenhouse Gas Initiative that aims towards the integration of greenhouse gas data and information across the atmospheric, oceanic, terrestrial and human domains.
