HANDS ON APPROACH

From the 58 hands it takes to make a pair of our skis to the way we open our doors to the community, Icelantic takes a “Hands On” approach to everything we do. We create personal relationships with our customers, dealers and manufacturers to ensure that they believe in our brand just as much as we do. 100% of our products are made in the USA—allowing us to interact directly with the people making our skis and apparel—guaranteeing the highest quality product while strengthening the American economy at the same time.

One Degree Celsius is a temperature of change— a moment when water molecules begin to crystallize into snow and ice. This transformation creates a world we love—one of snowy mountains, untracked lines and grand adventure. For us, it also represents a spirit of exploration, innovation, and the potential that drives us to be who we are and do what we do.

At Icelantic we believe in a deep connection with nature. This years series celebrates symbols from ancient oceans to deep elder forests, from our Mountain Mother to our Ocean Father and the animals that help complete the circle.

There is a delicate balance in nature— one that highlights both the intricacies of the individual as well as the symbiosis of community. When we step away from the screen and turn our attention to the forests, the mountains, the streams and all of the inhabitants within, we will see life—as its meant to be. We will discover an abundance of resources that nourish our mind, body and soul, if we slow down enough to listen.

TR AV IS PARR

My technique as an artist is to create handmade pieces of art.

This year’s series was created using high-performance clay. The clay was then inlaid with multiple materials including quilted maple, pearl shell, abalone shell, tigers eye stone, quartz, glass, feathers, fur, coral, grasses, and many other treasures found on this awesome planet. When choosing what material to use on a particular sculpture, I try and choose the one that best represents the essence or the story of the subject. For example, I chose to use quartz for the eyes of the Cave Bear and wood for the teeth. I felt like these materials best depicted the bear in his environment while adding a mystique to the sculpture.

MAKE LOCAL , THINK GLOBAL

Every one of Icelantic’s bombproof skis are made by hand in Denver, Colorado, USA. Located 15 minutes from our office, the Never Summer Factory has been home to Icelantic manufacturing for 8 years, continuing to produce top-of-the-line skis with Icelantic’s signature 2-Year no questions asked warranty. Made in Colorado is as important for Icelantic as it is beneficial. Keeping manufacturing within the State reinforces the effect and value of community and helps to keep our local economy vibrant— and stoked on snowsports! Additionally, having the factory so close to our HQ, we can easily swing by to check on production, play with prototypes or just say hello to the awesome people building our skis.

All of our skis come out of the factory fully tuned with a polished edge and stone finish provided by Wintersteiger.

SKNY SERIES

If every day were a powder day, we wouldn’t have any friends. We probably wouldn’t have jobs either. Though that wouldn’t be too bad, Icelantic understands that not everyday is a powder day and has designed a set of tools ranging from 75mm to 99mm underfoot to help you have as much fun on the days without pow, as those with.

After receiving such good feedback with the original SKNY Series, new for the ’14–’15 Season we decided to expand the SKNY Series beyond our four original models and are now offering the Gypsy SKNY (99mm underfoot) and Keeper SKNY (95mm underfoot). With the same sidecut radiuses, flex and bombproof construction as their fatter counterparts, the SKNY series delivers Icelantic’s top-of-the-line quality and performance— for a whole new way of skiing the hardpack.

THE GYPSYNow Available in SKNY for 2014–2015

The Gypsy is a playful, bouncy, reverse camber (Rocker) ski, with a friendly flex that transforms any mountain into your personal playground. The Gypsy’s nearly symmetrical dimensions allows you to float through pow forward and backwards with ease. With the reverse camber radius the same as the sidecut radius, The Gypsy engages the entire edge of the ski when you roll it over, enabling it to perform like it’s on rails. This is no ordinary powder ski.

THE KEEPERNow Available in SKNY for 2014–2015

With traditional camber underfoot, The Keeper’s early rise tip and tail rises to the occasion when triggered by the skier’s weight. Like a hot knife through butter, this ski lets the skier float through pow, blast through crud as well as scrub speed, effortlessly. With a relatively tight turning radius, The Keeper is easily harnessed and it’s abilities are endless.

THE SHAMAN

The Shaman epitomizes all-mountain skiing. With its unique diamond shaped shovel, unrivaled torsional rigidity and tapered design, The Shaman harnesses its skiers strength and transforms it into a powerful, intentional turn—in any condition. Its wide tip provides flotation and direction, coupled with its significant sidecut, The Shaman is what we like to refer to as an all mountain, “powder carver”.

THE ORACLE

The Oracle is designed for women, delivering maximum performance and style with minimal effort. With Icelantic’s signature “Fly-Weight” core at it’s center, this ski is lighter for smaller frames. It’s slightly tapered design allows the skier to maintain a forward, aggressive stance in any condition. The Oracle’s early rise tip allows its skier to float through pow and on crud, while the traditional scooped tail provides stability and predictability on-slope.

The Pilgrim provides stable footing at high speeds, and is well equipped to tackle early morning groomers to east coast ice with ease. If you’re ready to lay some trenches, this is the ski for you.

GICLÉE F INE ART PRINTS

A Giclée (pronounced Je-clay) is a fine art print created through an ink-jet printing process applied directly onto canvas which is then stretched, producing a replica so close to the original, even we have a hard time telling them apart.

Included with every Giclée purchase is a unique, hand-built ski hanger designed to easily mount on any wall surface to display your skis in the off season. Hang this next to your Giclée and you have an instant, one-of-a-kind, outta this world conversation piece. Your friends will be jealous.

WINT ER ON THE ROCKS

Icelantic’s Winter on the Rocks is a one-of-a-kind experience celebrating the convergence of music, art, community and snow, at one of the most iconic venues in the world, Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Held in conjunction with SIA’s SnowShow, this benchmark event is an opportunity for Icelantic to connect and give thanks to our community and supporters.

Join us this winter at Icelantic’s Winter on the Rocks, to experience a night to remember and to celebrate winter lifestyle in Colorado. National headlining musicians, hot chocolate and snowflakes are guaranteed.

ICE L AN T IC HQ

Icelantic is committed to an open door policy to our Gallery and Headquarters. Located in the Santa Fe Art District in Denver, CO, the Icelantic HQ showcases all of Travis Parr’s original topsheet artwork as well as an archive of all the skis we have made over the years. On the First Friday of every month, we open our doors and throw a party. That’s right—once a month, we host you and your friends with live music, rad art, complimentary beverages, food trucks, great people and an overall good time. This is a way for us to give high fives and get to know you a bit better. So if you’re ever in the Denver area, especially on the First Friday of the month, please be sure to swing by!
