Page 2: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

Take a look at these two scoopsof mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Page 3: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

The scoop on your leftis a cheap store brand.

Page 4: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

The scoop on your right is amore expensive name brand.

Page 5: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

I’m not going to tellyou what brands they

are because that’snot the point…

Page 6: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

I’m not doing a review of ice cream here.

Page 7: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

What I am going to do is draw an analogy

between ice cream and marketing content.

Page 8: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

Just so we’re all onThe same page here,

Let me define the term “marketing content”

in the context ofthis discussion.

Page 9: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

MARKETING CONTENT

nounany content that is used to attract and engage with a clearly defined audience with the objective of driving profitable customer action.

Page 10: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

OK… back tothe ice cream.

Page 11: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

As you look at thesetwo scoops of ice cream,

you may not see a hugedifference between the two.

Page 12: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

Each is mint green in color, and contains pieces of chocolate,

but if you tasted them, you’dnotice some distinct differences.

Page 13: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

You’d notice that the more expensive ice cream has a creamier texture

and richer mint flavorthan the cheaper ice cream.

Page 14: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

You’d notice there are more pieces of chocolate in the more expensive

ice cream,

and that the pieces are larger.

Page 15: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

Most importantly,

you’d know that the more expensive ice cream tastes much better overall.

Page 16: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

Bottom line…

The more expensive ice cream is far superior to the cheaper brand.

Page 17: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

Why?

Page 18: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

Because the more expensive ice cream

was made with higher quality ingredients.

Page 19: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

And, while ice cream made with higher quality ingredients

costs more, it will be more popular with

consumers.

Page 20: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

So, what does all this talk about ice cream

have to do with marketing content?

Page 21: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

Like ice cream, most websites, blogs, and other marketing

pieces can look pretty impressive atfirst glance.

Page 22: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

In fact, with all the design templates

available out there, it’s pretty hard not to have

impressive looking marketing pieces.

Page 23: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

But, just like ice cream, it’s not enough that

your marketing pieces look good.

Page 24: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

They actually haveto be good.

Page 25: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

And, just as thebest-tasting ice cream requires high quality

ingredients,

Page 26: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

profitable websites, blogs, etc. require high quality content created

by experienced professional writers.

Page 27: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

And, while hiringan experienced

professional content writer costs more,

Page 28: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

the content they create will be more effectivein driving profitable

customer action.

Page 29: Ice Cream and Content Marketing

Think about thatwhile I go dish up a bowl of my favorite

ice cream.
