DIFFERENT MBA PROGRAMS

Page 13: Ibs

1. You get the education that you demand: Even at a top B-school like IIM-A you have to extract the value of your education. There is no spoon feeding. Even at IIM-A you could do very well and still not learn many things. Learning is about how you extract the value from the teachings of your professors.

2. Learn to manage high pressure: When we had joined IIM-A we used to think that we are superior human beings, but later on we could not cope up with the extreme high pressure. Slowly we learned how to handle the pressure, and that helped us in our corporate life.

3. Determine your own metric of success: I don’t work for Goldman Sachs but I am happy. My priorities were clear. I wanted to be a writer and now I am happy.

4. Learn to appreciate others: Our schooling system doesn’t teach us to appreciate others. The life at IIM-A taught us how to honour and respect brilliant students.

5. Take risks: You should not worry about the three meals, but focus on what you want to achieve in your life and take risks to achieve it.
