iBook not working under battery power even with a good battery? Extend your range beyond thatwall socket and use this guide to replace your battery connector.

Breathe deeply. Trying times areahead, but we promise the lowercase does come off.
Push in the thin rims of the lowercase surrounding the batterycompartment, bending them past thetabs, and then lift up to free thatcorner of the lower case.
Step 8
There is a slot on the wall of thebattery compartment that locks thelower case in place. Use a smallflathead screwdriver to pry out theslot's lower rim and pull up on thelower case to free the slot from thetabs holding it.
Run a spudger along the seambetween the lower case and uppercase on the front of the computer tofree the tabs locking the lower case.Pull up on the lower case andcontinue to use the spudger asnecessary until you hear threedistinct clicks.
Continue to run the spudger aroundthe front, right corner. There are twotabs on the port side of thecomputer, one near the front cornerand one near the sound-out port.
Step 11
There are three tabs over the opticaldrive that must be released beforethe lower case can come off. Slidethe spudger into the lower caseabove the optical drive and run ittoward the back of the computeruntil you hear three distinct clicks.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
Step 16 — Battery Connector
Remove the two Phillips screwssecuring the battery connector to themetal framework.
Step 17
Lift the battery connector out of themetal framework and disconnect itfrom the logic board.
This connector requiresconsiderable force to remove. Werecommend wiggling the connectorwhile applying tension to slowly"walk" the connector out of itssocket.
