Ian Coley is renowned in the shooting world.Six times Olympic coach, Ian first shot for GreatBritain in 1971, and since then has representedthe country on over 200 occasions – either as ashooter, coach or team manager. In 2012, Ianwas awarded an MBE for his services to the

sport of shooting.

Charity Clay Shoots are a fantastic way of raising funds forworthwhile causes, whilst also giving your supporters the

opportunity to enjoy a rewarding and memorable experience.Over the years we have worked closely with a number of charities

to help raise significant funds through charity shooting events.

Each of our Charity Clay Shoot Experiences isarranged on an all-inclusive basis, so all you haveto concentrate on is raising funds. Ourexperienced staff both on the ground and in ouroffice are here to support you along the way.

Our most popular charity shoot format involves acombination of tuition and competition, whichmakes it accessible for all levels of experience.Charity events are normally shot in teams -maybe you wish to encourage local companies toenter, or a group of friends can join together andenter a team too.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A CLAY SHOOTINGEXPERIENCE?

In short, to have a lot of fun! As an idea of how a typicalevent runs: following tea and coffee, guest are given asafety briefing and split into teams. Each group is assignedone of our friendly and experienced instructors, and thenmoves around the ground to shoot a number of differentclay pigeon targets. We can also include a fun, competitiveelement which is great for team-building days.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

We have a number of covered stands so guests can enjoythe day whatever the weather.

WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR?

We’ve got gravel walkways, so no need for wellies, even ifthe weather is being British. Comfortable, casual clothingand reasonably sensible footwear is about all that’srequired. People are welcome to bring their own caps andglasses/sunglasses if they wish, though we supply caps andglasses for everyone as part of the safety equipment.

WHAT ABOUT RECOIL?

This is a commonly asked question and many people areworried about whether shooting a shotgun will hurt. If youhave an appropriate gun and are holding it correctly, itshouldn’t. We use special low recoil cartridges, and havesmall bore guns with short stocks available for ladies. If youdo feel like there is a lot of recoil, ask your instructor andwe will provide an extra pad for your shoulder.

GETTING HERE

FROM CHELTENHAM

Take the A435 Cirencester Road towards Seven Springs.Take the first exit on the Seven Springs roundabout, whichbrings you onto the A436. Follow the road forapproximately one mile up a hill. At the brow of the hill youwill see the entrance to the ground on the right hand side.

FROM THE NORTH, SOUTH WEST AND WALES

Turn off M5 Junction 11a. Take J11a following signs forCirencester A417. After approx. 3 miles you reach the AirBalloon pub roundabout. Take the 1st exit onto the A436(signposted A40 Oxford). After approx. 3 miles you reachtwo mini roundabouts. Take the 1st exit and then the 2ndexit signed Oxford. Drive for 1 mile and the ShootingGround is found on the right at the crest of the hill.

FROM THE EAST (LONDON & OXFORD)

Take the A40 from Oxford and head towards Cheltenham.You will pass the Garniche at The Puesdown on your righthand side, and after 2 miles you will reach a dualcarriageway. Shortly after the dual carriageway ends, thereis a set of traffic lights. Turn left onto the A436 followingsigns for Gloucester. You will pass the Kilkeney Inn on your

right. After approx. 2 miles you will see the entrance to theShooting Ground on your left hand side. Should you missthe turn, head to the bottom of the hill and turn safely atthe roundabout, it is less than a mile.

FROM STOW-ON-THE-WOLD AND STRATFORD

Follow the A429 from Stow on the Wold, on reachingBourton on the Water, turn right onto the A436. After 6miles you reach a set of traffic lights at Andoversford, turnleft then turn right into Andoversford, stay on that road for2 miles. At the Kilkeney Inn T-junction turn right. Follow thisfor 2 miles and the Shooting Ground is on your left. Shouldyou miss the turn head to the bottom of the hill and turnsafely at the roundabout, it is less than a mile.

FROM THE SOUTH (CIRENCESTER, SWINDON)

Follow the A417 towards Cheltenham. On reaching the AirBalloon pub take the 2nd Exit onto the A436 (signpostedA40 Oxford). After approx. 3 miles you reach two miniroundabouts. Take the 1st exit and then the 2nd exit signedOxford. Drive for 1 mile and the Shooting Ground is foundon the right at the crest of the hill.
