Then have him demonstrate what his hands do as you read the following: Hands are an important part of being reverent. Your hand should be still when it’s time to listen. Your hands should be folded when it’s time for prayer. Your right hand should carefully take the Sacrament. Your hands should be raised when you have something to say.’ Your hands should be held by those you love Your hands should quietly open and close doors. DAY 3 – GAME “Reverent Hands, “ For Little Friends, Friend, July 1999,31. Print and cutout the circles. As you read the poem from Day 2, have your child hand you the picture which matches the words you are reading. There will one picture left for you to talk about, behavior in the hallways of the chapel. There is no picture for holding the hands of those you love. DAY 4 – ART “I Can Be Reverent, ” Friend, Aug 2008, 38-39. Print and cutout pictures. Make a headband from paper, which will fit around your child’s head. As he identifies pictures of reverent behavior, help him staple the pictures to his headband. DAY 5 - STORY FROM THE FRIEND MAGAZINE “Christopher/Chris-Hopper, ” Friend, Mar. 2000, 30. Cut pictures for your child’s shoes and tell the story again having him demonstrate the actions.
