produce a product specifically designed for the transport industry. Our

one-stop-shop approach allows our clients to make use of one policy

By marrying Insurance and Technology we have created a paperless

environment where clients and brokers can do maintenance and

amendments online via a digital-key. This digital key automatically

transports each individual client/broker to his personalized digital site.

This site houses information only relevant to that specific client or

broker e.g. policy documents etc. Policies are updated on the same

day and amended documents are available online.

Safire is a public insurance company registered with the Financial

Services Board, governed by the Short Term Insurance Act, and as such

is regulated with the same level of stringency as all other insurance

companies.

Safire has been underwriting risk since 1987.

Safire is a niche insurer specializing in the following areas: commer-

cial, domestic, motor, liability, professional indemnity, guarantee,

crop and agricultural insurance and are considered experts in

these fields.

Safire deals exclusively with select brokers, allowing cli-

ents to truly test the market without other brokers merely

getting quotes to close the market.

Safire cedes all risk of catastrophe to internationally rec-

ognized reinsurers namely Munich-Re, Swiss Re, Lloyds

of London, Africa Re and Flagstone Re, to name just a

few.

At i-truck our Re-Insurance treaty is led by Munich RE.

Munich Re as a reinsurance company has been operating interna-

tionally over the last 130 years and apply a range of disciplines to produce

concepts that make tomorrow’s world insurable. Their recipe for

success is to anticipate risks and deliver needs-based solutions.

Munich Re share in the values and vision of i-truck which makes this

partnership sound. We also have the backing of Flagstone Re. Both

of these entities have scored an A-Rating by all three of the major

recognized financial-strength-ratings companies namely : A.M. Best,

Fitch and Moody’s, a true testament to their prudent management and

disciplined underwriting approaches.

Mark Whitehurst

Mark has been in Insurance since 1982. He started in the Re-insurance

environment then moved across to the direct insurance market in 1985.

He has worked for Aegis Insurance, Guardian National and Santam

to name a few. This grounding has given him a knowledge base in all

spheres of corporate and commercial insurance. For the last 10 years

he has specialised in the Heavy Commercial Vehicle insurance class.

From 2000 to 2010 he worked for 1Com Holdings (Absolute Under-

writing Managers) where he ran the Heavy Commercial Vehicle division

nationally.

Johannes-Daniël Veldsman

J-D’s a Graduate of Stellenbosch University (Bcomm LLB) and started

his career in the First Rand Graduate Program and later moved on to

numerous management positions within the group. Here he built up a

sound knowledge of the Financial Services Sector and a well respected

network within Corporate South-Africa. With a client-base that included

some of the major transporters, his insight into the transport industry,

paired with his Financial Background is a valuable asset.

be accessed by the broker and client via their specific digital key and

Password combinations. Any Amendments are Tracked via a Refer-

ence number that is e-mailed instantaneously to all 3 parties concerned

(Broker/Client and i-truck).
