• The display of the iPhone is manufactured by LG under an

• The screen is marketed by Apple as the "Retina display", based

on the assertion that a display of approximately 300 ppi at a

distance of 305 millimetres (12 in) from one's eye, or

57 per pixe is the maximum amount of detail that

the human can perceive.

Screen and

(3.5 in) liquid crystal display with scratch-resistant glass.

• The capacitive touchscreen is designed for a bare finger, or

multiple fingers for multi-touch sensing.

• The iPhone has a minimal hardware user interface, featuring

five buttons.

• The only physical menu button is situated directly below the

display, and is called the "Home button" because it closes the

active app and navigates to the home screen of the interface.

• All buttons except Home were made of plastic on the original

first generation iPhone and metal on all later models. The

touchscreen furnishes the remainder of the user interface.

Page 17: I phone

Battery:• The iPhone features an internal rechargeable lithium-ion

battery. Like an iPod, but unlike most other mobile phones at

the time of its launch, the battery is not user-replaceable.

• A USB to AC adapter can be connected to the cable to charge

directly from an AC outlet.

• Apple runs tests on preproduction units to determine battery

life.

• The battery life of early models of the iPhone has been

criticized by several technology journalists as insufficient and

less than Apple's claims.

• If the battery malfunctions or dies prematurely, the phone can

be returned to Apple and replaced for free while still under

warranty..

Page 18: I phone

Storage and SIM:

• The iPhone was initially released with

two options for internal storage size:

added a 16 GB model.

• Some users reported a yellow discoloration of the screen that

disappeared after several days,.

be insensitive, so that facial contact with the touchscreen can end

calls, mute calls, and dial other numbers.

• Some users reported that, particularly in low-light conditions, photos

taken sometimes contained blue or green "splotches". Issues with

white balance were also discovered, particularly when using the flash.

• Shortly after the iPhone 4 was launched, some consumers reported

that signal strength of the phone was reduced when touching the

lower left edge of the phone, bridging one of the two locations which

separates the two antennas, resulting in dropped calls in some areas
