THIS WEEK IN OUR PARISH
RCIA: THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS
Want to become Catholic? Never baptized? Never received First Communion or Confirmation? RCIA/RICA classes are for anyone wishing to learn more about the Catholic Church with a possible goal of entering into full communion with the Catholic Church. They are also for Catholic adults needing First Holy Communion or Confirmation. We are running two tracks concurrently: Thursdays 7:00-8:30 PM in English (RCIA) and Fridays 7:00-8:30 PM in Spanish (RICA). Classes are now meeting but it isn’t too late. You may call the office for more information, speak to Fr. Kottar after Holy Mass, or just come to the office building on either night and we will be there to answer all of your questions.
YOUTH GROUP NEWS
The Youth Group would like to ask for donations of non perishable food items to make food bags to be donated to families in our community.
We are also hosting this year’s All Saints Day party on November 1st. We are planning a trunk or treat and costume contest. Look for a sign up sheet for car & candy volunteers.
NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
CHAPEL OPEN FOR PRAYER 24/7
To encourage more prayer and time with Our Lord, we are happy to announce that the chapel is available for prayer 24/7. If the door is locked use code “5440 Ent” to temporarily unlock the chapel door. For your protection there are cameras inside and out and the door will re-lock automatically. Once inside the chapel it is very important that you do not approach the Altar or move past the warning signs, or the alarm will sound. Changes to the door code will be periodically announced.
GUADALUPANA GROUP
This group studies the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe, prays the Rosary on 2nd Sundays before 12:45 PM Mass,
organizes a procession, and plans the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 12, including the 9-week novena prior to the feast. Want to learn more? Contact Gabriela Butanda or one of the other group members.
OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE NOVENA
The nine-week novena in preparation for the Our Lady of Guadalupe feast day on December 12 began the week of October 6 with two large images and one statue of our Lady of Guadalupe. If you would like to have one of these images or the statue in your home for a week, register after 12:45 PM Sunday Mass or contact the parish office. Please note, you will pick up and return the statue or the image at the 12:45 PM Mass, it will not be delivered to your home.
VIGIL AT ABORTION FACILITY
Parishioners will gather to pray at the abortion facility in Charlotte (3220 Latrobe Drive, Charlotte, NC 28211) from 9:15-10:15 as we always do on the 4th Saturday. Bring a chair if you need one, a sign, and your rosary. Park on the street and walk to the facility. We stand directly in front of the facility on the sidewalk. Everyone is welcomed to go and pray for the mothers and their unborn children.
