in every special education folder. The form must be reviewed and updated in the fall of each year.– The form is designed to be used for three (3)

years.– It is the responsibility of the case manager.

ESL Welcome Center• Interpreters will assist the parent in obtaining required documents for registration and completion

of:– MCPSS Enrollment Form Free and Reduced Lunch Form– Migrant Employment Survey

• Immunization

• Administer an English proficiency test to determine the student’s level of English proficiency/Determine eligibility for ESL services

• Assist the parent with obtaining bus transportation

• Analyze student transcripts from foreign countries to determine student placement /Explain graduation requirements

• Provide information highlighting MCPSS policies regarding student and parent responsibilities (attendance, discipline, safety)

• Assist parent in obtaining correct school uniforms and explain uniform requirements

• Provide school with all completed registration documents and recommendation for appropriate grade placement

• *To prevent students from missing school while waiting to be processed, those who arrive during the first two weeks of school will be registered at the school site. The ESL Program will provide interpreters and ESL teachers to assist with registration and administer the English proficiency test at the school site.

Alternative Proof of Residence
