There’s so much to do and see in this great city; I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time. I want to thank you for all the hard work you’ve done to help move our Party forward. You were instrumental in key Senate races in Colorado and Montana, and I’m so proud to be serving with Senators Ken Salazar and Jon Tester. The West has changed a great deal; you’ve done incredible work and made a huge difference. I’m confident that 2008 will be our year! Enjoy the conference! I hope you will enjoy visiting my beautiful congressional district of San Francisco. Your work to elect Democrats in 2006 has already brought change to our country. In our first 100 days, the Democratic House of Representatives began to take America in a new direction: passing the 9/11 Commission recommendations, raising the minimum wage, cutting student loan interest rates and prescription drug prices, promoting stem cell research, cutting subsidies to Big Oil in favor of alternative energy research, implementing ethics reform and pay-as-you-go budgeting, protecting our veterans, and calling for responsible redeployment and accountability in Iraq. We are prepared to lead, ready to govern, and determined to make you proud. Congratulations and thank you for your excellent work in electing New Direction Democrats from the West to Congress: Representatives Gabrielle Giffords (Arizona), Harry Mitchell (Arizona), Jerry McNerney (California), Ed Perlmutter (Colorado) and Mazie Hirono (Hawaii); and for waging competitive races in Idaho, New Mexico,Washington state and Wyoming.Working together, we will grow our House and Senate majorities and win back the White House in 2008. Your work to elect Democrats in 2006 has already brought change to our country. In our fi rst 100 days, the Democratic House of Representatives began to take America in a new direction: passing the 9/11 Commission recommendations, raising the minimum wage, cutting student loan interest rates and prescription drug prices, promoting stem cell
research, cutting subsidies to Big Oil in favor of alternative energy research, implementing ethics reform and pay-as-you-go budgeting, protecting our veterans, and calling for responsible redeployment and accountability in Iraq. We are prepared to lead, ready to govern, and determined to make you proud.
Congratulations and thank you for your excellent work in electing New Direction Democrats from the West to Congress: Representatives Gabrielle Giffords (Arizona), Harry Mitchell (Arizona), Jerry McNerney (California), Ed Perlmutter (Colorado) and Mazie Hirono (Hawaii); and for waging competitive races in Idaho, New Mexico, Washington state and Wyoming. Working together, we will grow our House and Senate majorities and win back the White House in 2008. Onward to a great Democratic victory!
