Infinite in number and variety are the states of existence that beings are born into.

I have been born as a human being.I shall strive to live a worthy life.

Countless are those who cannot speak or hear what is spoken to them.

I have been born with the powers of speech and hearing.

I shall strive to practise Right Speech.I shall strive to listen with more

mindfulness.

Countless are those who cannot see to read or lack the power to reason and ponder.

I have been born able to see and to use my mind.

I shall strive to use my seeing and mental faculties in wise ways.

Many are those who dwell in lands of strife and conflict and who are deprived of

security and safety.

I shall strive to bring some happiness and I shall strive to bring some happiness and peace to those who come to me in need.peace to those who come to me in need.

Incalculable are those forced to toil without Incalculable are those forced to toil without end and who are driven by hunger and want.end and who are driven by hunger and want.
