Friends,I’ve known Mike Huston for a few years now and have al-ways been impressed with his drive and desire to breed andoffer consistent, quality-bred cattle in volume. Volume, that’sthe key word in that statement. Every sale this fall will offer ahalf dozen or so really nice ones that could make an impactin the right man’s hands. Where at Huston Cattle Company Ibelieve you can go fifty deep on bred heifers and young cowsthat can truly be herd changers. Franchise females, the kindof that fortunes can be built off of.
The cattle and grain markets are going to stay strong forquite a while and it makes as much sense to invest in goodquality livestock as any opportunity out there. A core group ofthese females, in an aggressive program that utilizes embryotransplant may generate hefty profits for their new owner.Visit with Mike or myself and we will be happy to share withyou some of the many success stories customers have hadwith his cattle. Study this sale book and come to Rosevilleprepared to invest in your programs future. You won’t regretit. As always if I can assist in any way, please feel free tocontact me.
Thank You

Lot 1What a picture to start off the 2011 Heart of the Herd sale catalog. I told Mears to be readythe second she walked in the pen. The great ones always stick it within the first few sec-onds. Super Freak, as Mears refers to her as, is by far the youngest heifer in the sale. What she gives up in age to the other breds, she more than surpasses in quality. This onewill be heard from again and I’m sure it will be sooner than later.

Irish WhiskeyI realize this bull needs no introduction but I just wanted you toknow one thing, at $300 per straw I’m dedicated to providing onlythe best available genetics to my valued customers!
It took some serious arm twisting for TJ to convince me to use theClassic bull. I told him that I was only using one Angus bull on all300 virgin heifers. The more I studied the bull and his pedigree the more intrigued I became. We are expecting great things frommating these composite heifers to BC Classic.
I realize a lot of people were on the fence regarding the Monopolycalves two years ago, I don’t think that is the case any longer. Monopoly sired calves have literally dominated sales across thecountry and show no sign of letting up. With tight supplies of old Heat Wave and original Monopoly semen, I’ve once again demon-strated my commitment to offering only the finest genetics available.

BULL
Lot 52You know what the only thing better than Walks Alone is? A Walks Alone son out of PANDA!This bull calf is the result of the IVF process performed at Trans Ova last year while PANDAwas pregnant. This bull is exactly what I had hoped for. He is absolutely the stoutest, freakiestlooking calf that has walked the pens here at HCC. There will not be a calf at Denver that canequal all the positive characteristics this young sire possesses! Selling FULL POSSESSION.Retaining 1/2 semen interest. I will be more than happy to absorb 50% of all costs if a trip toDenver is necessary!

OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIMEAfter much deliberation, my partner has decided to offer his half interest in PANDA. This cow is believed by many, including myself, to quite possiblybe the best cow in the industry. When I originally offered half interest in 2008, I wrote in her foot notes that she would revolutionize the industry —and she has! After only one year of production she generated 24 live calves. I only sold 14 head and they generated $133,000. That crop includedDCC New Look 101, Meyer 734 and Heat Wave calves. The most noted calf was her son, Long Time Coming, which generated $19,000 for half interest in our 2010 sale and two Heat Wave sons of which one fetched $26,000 for Copus & Rodgers. The other Heat Wave steer, purchased byCopus, just recently won class seven for Tamara Adcock at the 2011 American Royal! Folks, all BS aside, and opportunity like this will NEVER surface again. PANDA is only 4 years old and just approaching the prime of her life. The new owner will be 50/50 partners on all 16 2012 ET preg-nancies: 8 by Monopoly, 4 by Ali & 4 by Lut and everything else going forward. We just recovered 6 by Milkman for November transfer! You are notbuying the recips. They remain possession of HCC. Call Mike for more details 309-368-2615. NO POSSESSION OF PANDA.

If there were ever a pair ofcattle to keep together, this would be it. It willbe interesting to find out what these 15 cattlewill generate in gross dollars next fall!
Here is the bred that probably has generatedmore positive discussion than most of them. She got very run down as a 2 yr old and I justcould not bring myself to getting rid of her. I will bet ANYONE that she ends up in trans-plant by April 2012! And I will bet ANYONEagain that once you see her in person no onewill take me up on the first bet! Folks, I would like you to focus your attention on a new division that we have never offered before. This year we will be offer-ing the top 35 commercial Angus bred heifers out of our inventory of nearly 200 head. These heifers represent the exact geneticpool that has been the source of our foundation Angus cows. Mike Corzatt, of Stronghurst, IL, introduced me to these genetics 6years ago. Mike and I have been mating these exact females, which originated in Gordon, NE at the Krebs Angus Ranch, to thelikes of Aftershock, Chopper, 3C Macho, DJ Saluation, SOS, Climax and Meyer 734.
For example, all 15 SOS daughters we are selling came from the Corzatt herd, as well as the vast majority of the 4 year oldcows we are selling bred to Irish Whiskey. Now that I’ve let the cat out of the bag, it is your decision if you want to raise cattle likeLot 54, 55, 57, 63, 64 and 65. It all starts with foundation cows like these. Here lies an opportunity for you folks to really acquiregenetics that I KNOW will be the building blocks for a very profitable run in the in the cattle business. GOOD LUCK!

As you may have noticed, I neglected to write my little spiel until the end of the catalog. There is a reason for that.As the owner/breeder of these cattle I take great pride in the overall appearance of how well they look and how wellmy wife, Tina, did portraying them is this marvelous catalog. These cattle don’t look this good by accident, my righthand man, Taylor Schwartz along with his posse from WIU are as good as it gets. Thank you guys! New this year, the hiring of Kevin Mears of Stock Options Marketing. Kevin spent 3 days in Roseville doing the pictures and what ajob well done. Another individual that has almost become a permanent fixture here, Dr. Michael Pugh, of WestwoodGenetics. Dr. Pugh has been here 3 years now and does a wonderful job for us. I highly recommend his services toanyone interested in the embryo transplant market. Thank you Westwood.
With all that being said, this whole business boils down to ONE thing! Do the cattle WORK FOR YOU the customer? You know what, I know I can confidently say my cattle work for the customer. If I had a dollar for every time I heardthe line, “Mike do you remember that cow I got from you”? That is the single most rewarding compliment I can get. This year marks the 4th sale and the success that our customers have already received is nothing short of flattering.
For example, Moose Johnson and his son Drew purchased 7 bred heifers in our 2008 sale. Of the 21 possiblecalves born to date, they have either keep or sold every heifer and have sold 7 of the 11 steer calves! Drew invested$13,000.00 and has already exceeded $30,000.00 in steer sales alone!
Ask Dave Boyer just how well our cattle have worked for him and Grant Weisinger. Dave has bought nearly 25 bredheifers of ours and has been marketing his calves through the Weisingers & Jones’s private treaty sales. The highseller this year was a Remendy out of one of those cows. The 2009 Grand Champion Market Heifer at the IowaState Fair was raised by one of these cows. Actually Dave just informed me that the Weisingers just purchased thevast majority of those cows! 10 out of the 30 calves in their 2011 sale were raised by HCC bred cows.
Aaron Drake, of Ohio, has been a great customer since the first sale in 2007. I believe he has bought nearly 7 bredscarrying our brand. This year he raised an awesome red baldy Heat Wave steer that Dave Sutherly sold for$9,750.00. To this day, the mother of that steer, a red baldy Aftershock, might still be one of my all-time favorites!Thank you Aaron.
Folks, in closing, I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone that is a part of this operation. You know who you areand the things you do for Tina and I do not go unnoticed. Hope to see you in Roseville November 20th!
Mike
