MEETINGS // Thursday Activities, Room 420
Volume 1 Issue 4 December 2010
December is a
difficult month. With
looming tests, dreadful
term papers and chilly
weather, community
service often becomes
secondary in a crowded
agenda.
However, you can still
approach the holiday
season with a heart of
service. While we have
homes, families, school
and the annual
stockpile of presents,
many are not as
fortunate.
Consider donating a
few cents or a dollar the
next time you see a
Salvation Army
volunteer, ringing his or
her bell, or spare a few
hours when your
schedule allows to
volunteer at a soup
kitchen or for any other
local cause.
Already, Hunter Key
Club has made a
difference to brighten
up someone's holiday.
In last month's
Thanksgiving card
project, the women
and their families
who received the
cards through the
organization,
Women in Need,
thanked us for our
efforts and were
overjoyed to accept
our holiday cards.
So yes, work
diligently on that
essay and ace that
test, but never forget
to share the holiday
spirit with others.
Good luck, happy
holidays and happy
new year!

Holiday Card Template from Helping is Easy
Our luncheon on December
17 was a success, thanks to the
diligent efforts of Hunter Key
Clubbers to prepare an
assortment of delicious
dumplings, man the table at the
G.O. Foyer, heat the food and
clean up. The cause for donation
will be determined by the board
over the next few weeks.
Following up the club's positive
response to the Thanksgiving
Helping is Easy Cards (a total of 92
cards were donated to the
downtown facility, Women in
Need, which provides housing for
disadvantaged women and their
families), a second template themed
for the holidays was distributed.
The cards were collected on
December 20 and a total of about
60 were donated to Women in
Need.
