It’s an exciting time to be an architect. New methods, new materials,
and new designs that were not feasible as little as two decades ago.
Throughout the world, Hunter Douglas is helping bring original ideas off
the drawing board and into reality. We’re working alongside the
architecture and design community, creating some of the world’s most
recognizable buildings.
We know how much work goes into each project. That’s why we’ve
dedicated ourselves to the idea that for architects and designers to
create innovative projects, they need innovative, customizable products.

BUSINESS IS PEOPLE
People are the true assets of our company. They represent the
exceptional standards we hold ourselves to. Our reputation is built on
their work. Over the last 80 years, we’ve gained our reputation because
they’ve devoted themselves to providing architects the finest possible
products.
RESEARCH
We’ve developed a tradition of crafting breakthrough products, from our
lightweight aluminium blinds and linear ceilings to our Duette®
Honeycomb shades, QuadroClad façades, Techstyle™ ceilings and
Silhouette® privacy sheers.
We have research and development centres in the United States, the
Netherlands, Germany, Chile and China, each focused on creating the
products of tomorrow through improving production processes,
engineering new materials, eliminating waste and reducing the need for
maintenance.
MANUFACTURING
Almost 60 years ago, Hunter Douglas pioneered a unique continuous
casting and integrated manufacturing process for aluminium. This
innovative spirit has penetrated all aspects of our business. We’ve set
the industry standard for fabric, trapping air in cellular pockets to
provide insulation, light diffusion, privacy, light control and sun
protection and applied the same technology to ceilings to produce
exceptional acoustical properties. We take great pride in these
developments and continue to focus on the functionality, durability, style
and safety of our products.
