MILWAUKEE OVERIVEW
790 N Van Buren St | Milwaukee, WI13
Downtown Milwaukee is currently experiencing an unprecedented renaissance. Since
2005, approximately $5.2 billion has been invested in completed private and public
projects with an additional $2.65 billion currently under construction or proposed.
Fiserv Forum, home to NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks, officially opened in September 2018
in the new Deer District. Northwestern Mutual completed construction on their new
32-story, 1.1 million-square-foot headquarters tower in 2017 and their 34-story luxury
residential tower with parking and retail space in 2018. In November 2018, Milwaukee's
new streetcar The Hop began running service on the initial 2.5-mile route. Additional
routes are under construction and planned. Catalytic projects recently completed or
nearing completion include the $137-million, 25-story BMO Harris Financial Centre;
the $60-million Huron Building; the $90-million conversion of the former Grand Ave
Mall now called The Avenue; and the $30 million Hammes Company headquarters
building, among many others. All of this in addition to the $1 billion Deer District
package has significantly changed the landscape of downtown Milwaukee in the past
few years.
