Product Overview

The CR52MPUD (03030KKR) of the NE40E-X3 has one memory slot and supports

By default, the CR52MPUD is already attached with a 2 GB memory card. You do not
need to purchase the memory card independently during the contract configuration.
The CR52MPUD2 contains 2 GB DDR3 memory cards. Customers do not need to
purchase additionally.
CR52-MPUD does not support USB disks. CR5D0MPUD170 supports 2G USB and it
is contained and need not to be configured.
NE40E-X8
The CR57SRU40A4 (03030KSR) of the NE40E-X8 can be configured with two CF
cards and the maximum capacity of a single CF card can be 1 GB.
By default, the CR57SRU40A4 is already attached with one 1 GB CF card. During
configuration, you must configure another CF card. The CF card with the BOM number
being 02316042 is recommended.
he CR57SRU40A4 (03030KSR) of the NE40E-X8 supports 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM
memory cards and can be configured with a maximum of two such memory cards. The
CR57SRU40A4 is already attached with one 2 GB memory card.
It is recommended that the CR57SRU40A4 be configured with another memory card
of the BOM number 02316431 during the contract configuration.
The CR57SRU40A4 (03030KSR) of the NE40E-X8 supports two USB2.0 interfaces.
Each SRU40A4 supports a maximum of two USB disks, and each NE40E-X8 supports a
maximum of four USB disks. By default, no USB disk is configured. How many USB disks
(06010161 or 06010171) needs to be configured depend on customers' requirements.
The USB disk is used to upgrade the system software package. It is recommended that
each device be configured with one USB disk. After the upgrade, you need to copy the
system software package to the CF card.
NE40E-X16
The CR56MPUB4 (03030JTW) of the NE40E-X16 can be configured with two CF
cards and the maximum capacity of a single CF card can be 1 GB.
By default, the CR56MPUB4 is already attached with one l GB CF card. During
configuration, you must configure another CF card. The CF card with the BOM number as
02316042 is recommended.
The CR56MPUB4 (03030JTW) of the NE40E-X16 supports 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM
memory cards and can be configured with a maximum of two such memory cards. The
CR56MPUB4 is already attached with one 2 GB memory card.
It is recommended that the CR56MPUB4 be configured with another memory card of
the BOM number 02316431 during the contract configuration.
In 1:1 mode of MPUs or SRUs, the capacity of the memory cards of the MPUs or
SRUs must be the same. The memory cards configured for one board must share the
same BOM number, and it is better to have them supplied by the same manufacturer.
The CR56MPUB4 (03030JTW) of the NE40E-X16 supports two USB2.0 interfaces.
Each MPUB4 supports a maximum of two USB disks, and each NE40E-X16 supports a
maximum of four USB disks. By default, no USB disk is configured. You can determine the
number of USB disks with the BOM number being 06010161 or 06010171 according to
customers' requirements. The USB disk is used to upgrade the system software package.
It is recommended that each device be configured with one USB disk. After the upgrade,
you need to copy the system software package to the CF card.
2 Service Slots
1)Configuration Notes of the LPUF-10: The LPUF-10 (03038461) is a 10 Gbit/s
platform for flexible cards. It provides four slots for flexible cards of the same type or
different types, and supports hot swap of flexible cards. The LPUF-10 supports a
maximum of 10-Gbit/s bandwidth. When the total bandwidth of ports in the four slots
exceeds 10 Gbit/s, the line-rate forwarding performance is not ensured.

2)Configuration Notes of the LPUF-21: The LPUF-20 and LPUF-21 are newly
increased in NE80E/40E V300R003. Adopting the SD588 processors, the LPUF-20 and
LPUF-21 are 20 Gbit/s platforms for flexible cards and support a maximum bandwidth of
20 Gbit/s. When the total bandwidth of the interfaces on the LPUF-20 and LPUF-21 in two
slots exceeds 20 Gbit/s, the line-rate forwarding performance is not ensured on all
interfaces. The LPUF-20/21 provides two slots for flexible cards of the same type or
different types. According to the support for hot swap of the flexible card, the LPUF-20 can
be classified into the LPUF-20 supporting hot swap (03030HVN and 02316416) and the
LPUF-20 that does not support hot swap (02315504 and 02315756). The LPUF-21
supports hot swap of the flexible card.
In the case of the LPUF-20 that does not support hot swap of the flexible card, before
installing the LPUF-20, you need to first insert flexible cards into the LPUF-20, and before
removing flexible cards, you need to first remove the LPUF-20. In the case of the LPUF-20
that supports hot swap of the flexible card and the LPUF-21, you can install the
LPUF-20/21 and insert or remove the flexible cards in any order. The LPUF-20/-21-A
supports services such as L3VPN, MVPN, and enhanced IPV6.

Description:Starting from V300R003, the NE40E/80E adopts the License-based sale
strategy. The general principle is as follows:
1. Base package
The base package is mandatory item to be purchased for the NE40E/80E of each version,
especially at a new site.
2. Feature license
Feature licenses are controlled and are sold according to the features required by
customers. Feature licenses of the NE40E/80E are classified into device licenses and
board licenses. For device licenses, each device needs to be configured with one device
license, for example, a 1588v2 Function License for the 1588v2 feature. For board
licenses, each board needs to be configured with one license, for example, the
LPUF-40-B Upgrade to LPUF-40-A License.
3. Upgrade fee
If customers attempt to upgrade the earlier versions to use new features, they need to pay
the upgrade fee. For upgrades on Huawei's account, such as bug fixing or contract
obligation, the upgrade fee is charged as required.
