DOOR HAND
All doors are denoted by the direction of their swing, or their “hand.” Before a door can be hung, its swing must be known.
Currently, there are two methods used to determine the hand of a door. The first method, the one most straightforward and commonly used, designates the door simply as Right Hand (RH) or Left Hand (LH). To determine the swing of the door, simply face the hinge pin side of the door and note the location of the door knob. If the knob is to the left, it is a Left Hand door. If the knob is to the right, it is a Right Hand door.
The other method currently in use designates the door as either Right Hand Reverse (RHR) or Left Hand Reverse (LHR). To determine the swing of the door in this method, face the outside of the door. The outside is the street side of an entrance door, the corridor (hall) side of a room door, or the side opposite the hinge pins on a communicating door (a door that connects two rooms). If the door opens toward you and the hinges are on the left, it is a Left Hand Reverse. If the hinges are on the right, it is a Right Hand Reverse.
Although both methods are equally accurate and achieve the required results, the first system is pre-ferred. Before hanging a door, make sure that all con-cerned agree on the method that will be used. This will prevent confusion down the line when the pre-hung doors are actually being installed.

Clamping. The 3800 uses 9 clamps during lite cutting and standard lock and latch boring (4 at each end plus lock template clamp).
Safety. During lite or lock cutting, the 3800 operator keeps both hands on the control handles.
8-ft Capable. Standard on the 3800. Change-over for doors from 6’6” to 8’0” requires no tools on the 3800. Left hand clamp arm moves freely in and out on linear bearings when clamps are not engaged.
Power edge prep. 3800 edge prep (latch drilling and faceplate mortising) is powered and controlled from panel on the lite cutter head.
Door cut-off. The 3800 may also be used to cut down the height of a door by positioning the end of the door beyond the frame of the machine. Use the template clamps to clamp a straight edge (such as the end of a lite template) to the surface of the door. Then draw the lite cutter-head around the clamp arm to the “outside” of the machine and cut off the door.
Multi point clamp system to en-sure precise machining of doors
Reference stops position the door to rout the faceplate, and to drill the lock, latch, and the deadbolt.
Centralized control panel allows the operator to perform multiple functions including latch, faceplate and lock prep.

The DTI 5000 is a compact, jam-resistant automatic fastening system. The system will drive any size threaded fastener provided the length is more than the overall head diameter. Applications include wood, metal and plastic. RPMs range from 800 to 2,600, and torque ranges from 12- to 120-inch pounds.
IT’S FAST - a patented barrel design allows a screw to wait in the entrance tube of the barrel while driving a screw. No waiting for a new screw to load!
IT’S EFFIcIENT - the patented feed mechanism reduces likelihood of mechanical failure, and the twist-lock feed cover permits fast access to the feed mechanism for quick disassembly and reassembly. The screwfeeder automatically shuts off if the unit is not cycled for 7-8 seconds and restarts when the operator drives another screw.
IT’S SAFE - power to the micro switch on the screwdriver assembly which activates the control box is 24 volts, making the unit very safe to operate.
IT’S EASy To uSE - unique barrel design allows the unit to be much smaller and lighter than comparable machines on the market today. The basic unit is 12” wide x 18” long x 10” high. Dimensions may vary due to configuration.

FOR HaRD-WORKing sHOPs
Need a floor truck that can withstand years of heavy-duty use? These trucks are built tough enough to move 2500 lbs. of material with ease. Solid hardwood con-struction and heavy-guage steel work together as a force to reckon with! Phenolic wheels resist shock, are non-sparking, and will not degrade from contact with floor grease or oil. Swivel wheels operate continuously from -50 degrees to 260 degrees for making tight aisle turns.
Order the Floor Truck (left) or the Swivel Truck (right) with either 36” or 42” remov-able corner supports (6” of which nest in the corner brackets). Swivel Truck castors are precision built with two perfectly aligned swivel raceways. Base units in larger sizes can be special ordered.

5-in-1 mateRial HanDling system Get your material handling issues under control the easy way. Order as many bases as you need to cover every station, then custom configure them by slipping handles, rails, racks or a cage into the slots and quickly securing them with bolts.
Each finished base comes with four heavy-duty ball-bearing castors chosen for their ability to glide smoothly even over rough flooring. If you prefer a six-wheel base, specify that option when you order.
Handles turn the base into a general handling cart. But any other finish option can be added for more specific applications. Whether you grab your jamb and casing stock vertically or horizontally, you can design a rack to simplify the process and keep the stock organized.
Second shift grabs stock another way? Your operators will appreciate being able to work in the way that is most comfortable for them. And you’ll reduce operator fatigue and injury.
With the stock cage, shorty stock for headers, sills and head casings can be organized to the nth degree. Workers can pull the stock they’re looking for from either side of the cage…order a single cage for two operators!
We put the same engineering into these racks as we do all our machinery components. That’s why you won’t find miters or ground welds that can be a source of weakness and potential failure. In fact, some may say these carts are overbuilt. But we know you are expecting years of hard use on all your material handling equipment, and now you can get it.
Call us today to order a fleet of Universal Carts! You’ll see an improvement in your workflow and the bottom line!

450450 QUICK CHANGE MATERIAL STOP KITThis kit improves the strength, reliability, and func-tionality of the 450 stop system. It virtually eliminates breakage due to repeated impact. It makes it pos-sible to accurately position mitered stop on heads. This system also incorporates a quick change arm that makes it possible for the operator to change the setup of the machine in under a minute. This kit also makes it easy to run multiple types of jamb and stop combinations with a minimum of change over time.26-5804-00 $3,382.00
450 SIDE JAMB REFERENCE KITThe 450 holds the stop a fixed distance from the edge of the jamb as the jamb is processed through the machine. The jamb and the stop are held only in a short area near the nailer. This is to allow for some curvature of the jamb without effecting the position of the stop. As a result it is easy for the operator to position the jamb incorrectly. This kit gives the op-erator a positive location to locate the edge of the jamb that is farther from the nailer. This helps the operator correctly position the jamb, and then when the cycle is started the side stop is retracted allowing for the curvature of the jamb.26-5805-00 $993.00

MAGNUM SCALED INDEX BARThis kit is for Magnums serial number DJ2001 and above. When ma-chining doors to match an existing frame the most time consuming part of the job is laying out the locations for the lock height and the hinges. The scaled index bar allows for direct reading of the lock height and hinge locations by utilizing three scales. One scale for the lock location and two scales for the hinge locations. There is no longer any need to layout the door. The operator only needs to know the distance from the top of the door to the top of each hinge location. The scaled index bar fits in the same location as the standard quick change index bar. This bar can be installed and removed as easily as any other index bar.26-6804-00 without 9’0” extensions $1,945.3826-6808-00 with 9’0” extensions $2,174.60

MAGNUM LATCH DRILL CYLINDER UPGRADE KITThis kit addresses reliability issues with the latch drill cylinders installed on machines from serial number DJ2201-95 through DJ2540-95. The new cylinder improves the drill feed speed adjustment accuracy and ensures consistent operation.26-6810-00 $175.00
MAGNUM BACKSET CRANK UPGRADE KITThis kit is for magnums serial number DJ2001-95 through DJ2853-95. The backset adjuster on this series Magnum was designed to be used “Occasionally”. I.E. Once or twice a month. When the backset crank is used “Occasionally” it will last a very long time. Some customers need to adjust the backset several times a day. When it is used this often the threads on the backset crank will wear out prematurely. This kit upgrades the backset crank assembly so that it will handle the rigors of daily adjustment.26-6814-00 $277.02

The lock out valve not only blocks all incoming air it also drains all the air from the system. This relieves all stored energy from the air system. NORFIELD SERVICE AND INFORMATION
learn how a planned maintenance program will save time, money and your machinery. How much lost production time do you have each year? You may think your machinery performance is something you control. And you sometimes put time in every month to keep it running at its top speed. We recently talked to a customer who felt 4 hours of maintenance every two weeks was an acceptable level of performance. However, he didn’t factor in lost production time. One half day every two weeks is a full production day every month, and 12 production days every year. When maintenance adversely affects performance, consider a change. In our desire to support our customers, we are dedicated to keeping your operation running at its peak performance level. We now offer a comprehensive Planned Maintenance Program that will save you time, money, and machinery over the life of the program. The Field Engineers who work on your machinery are fully trained from the ground up, and then receive factory certification on each machine. Our certified Field Engineers will perform the Planned Maintenance Service and make a careful analysis of your machinery. You will then be provided a complete evaluation of each machine, including recommendations for Corrective Main-tenance (repair work), upgrades to improve machinery performance, and a regular PM schedule based on the volume on individual machines.Norfield’s goal is to ensure your success. Call our Service department or your Norfield rep today to discuss how we may better serve your production goals in the future.

NORFIELD SERVICE AND INFORMATION
At the time of the Planned Maintenance service, our certified Field Engineer will replace wear parts, perform all alignments and adjustments, thoroughly test the equipment in production and verify your acceptance of the results. Also, we will evaluate the condition of the equipment and recommend Corrective Maintenance (repairing equipment malfunctions), upgrades and/or modifications that can optimize machine performance. Finally, we will make a careful analysis of the volume on your machinery to establish a PM Schedule tailored to your production requirements. Norfield will track and initiate all future maintenance visits. How often do i need Planned maintenance? The need for PM visits is determined by the amount of volume run on the machine since the last PM. This is called a Service Interval and it varies by machine (see ‘Service Intervals’ below).
