WALKING P A G E 2 L I M A V A D Y H I G H

The new year eights are certainly making their pres-ence felt in the school with a whopping £2242.76 raised for school funds with their annual sponsored walk! Many thanks to everyone who contributed and to Mrs Dodds for doing her usual good job of organizing everything!

A Year On … With the first anniversary of David Nicholl’s death just past, staff and friends were able to mark the occasion by passing on a cheque to Epilepsy Action for nearly £6000.

Well done to Ian, Mar-shall, Ernie, Michael, Fred, Wallace and Dougie who took part in the marathon cycle that raised the money.

King Lear ‐ The LHS Way! The year 14 Performing Arts class, taught by Mr  Sleet,  have  been  highly  commended  fol‐lowing  their  performance  of King Lear  at  the 2010 Shakespeare Schools Festival.

The class performed their 30 minute adapta‐tion set in a mental asylum and the audience were  delighted  with  their  very  innovative and  different  slant  on  Shakepeare’s  very popular  tragedy.  In  fact  the  director  of  the festival sent an e mail detailing his delight at their very mature performance. Well done to the class!

BOOK FAIR

The  annual  book  fair  was  in town  and  took  up  its  usual residence in the library.

With a wide vari‐ety  of  books  on offer it proved to be  as  popular  as ever!  This  year’s  grand  total was over £580!

So  to  all  you  readers  out there, keep on reading!

Year 12 interview skills day

Year 12 dressed up for the day and learnt all about how to prepare and take part in an inter-view.

With local businesses tak-ing part the students had a very instructive day which

should help them in the fu-ture. Many thanks to all who helped out!

CHRISTMAS BOX APPEAL

It was business as usual for the Christmas Box this year. Lots of boxes were filled and sent to the local collection point.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed!

MERRY CHRISTMAS
