4,932,341 salvation decisions in 2009A million more in the Kingdom!

1,088,694. That is the number of souls that responded to the call of salvation and completed individual

decision cards in our Gospel Crusade in Ibadan. 1,088,694 – it is hard for our minds to even grasp such a number. Even more so, when it is the number of souls rescued from an eternity in hell by one sweep of God’s mighty saving hand. Rejoicing in heaven over one soul saved? What an inconceivable celebra-tion there must be for the 1,088,694 lost sheep that have now been found!

Over 500,000 people filled the field to hear the gospelproclaimed on the final night of the Ibadan Great Gospel Crusade.

Unprecedented Harvest

Yes, this is the mission of Jesus the Good Shepherd – to save the lost. He spoke of other people and said “them also I must bring” (John 10:16). That ‘must’ sounds astonishing. Is Jesus subject to compulsions? The truth is he must save because he must. That is who he is. The requirement came from his own

spontaneous compassion and love. Unsolicited grace brought Christ the Son of God to Calvary. To enter hell, we would have to step over his wounded form, broken on the cross. Saving the lost is his business. His compassion is not some spur-of-the-moment impulse, like passing by and dropping coins into a beggar’s bowl. He “seeks and saves sinners” – praise the Lord. Thank you for your love and support.

Ibadan is one of the major cities in Nigeria, third largest in population after Lagos and Kano, and the largest in geographical area. It was to this strategic place that the Christ for all Nations team, together with Evangelists Reinhard Bonnke and Daniel Kolenda, traveled for the last Great Gospel Crusade of 2009.

Return to Ibadan

Scenes of jubilation greeted the ministry team as they arrived in the city to attend a formal welcoming by the State Governor. The governor, a Christian, was just a local government chairman during CfaN’s previous crusade in Ibadan 8 years ago. Evangelist Bonnke prayed for him then – and he attributes his now guber-natorial status to the blessing and favor of the Lord.

Everywhere the team went, they heard reports of the impact from the 2001 Ibadan crusade. The arch-bishop said that it had been the key to the explosion of Christianity in the region. The influence of the Body of Christ is significant in the region – one evidence they pointed to was the election of the state’s first Christian governor. Additionally, churches have united and have all experienced growth and prosperity.

The warm state welcome was echoed by the regional King who made the team feel welcome at the palace

with traditional customs and colorful pageantry. On the way back from these official functions, the motorcade passed the as yet unused new crusade ground to view the 25 acres of cleared ground that would soon accom-modate the expected crowds.

Salvation Calls

The 5 days of meetings started with a bang as almost a quarter of a million people turned up for the very first meeting. Reinhard Bonnke preached the opening mes-sage which resulted in a massive response to the call for salvation. Daniel Kolenda took up the challenge on the second night to an even greater crowd and once again there was a huge response to the salvation call. The event was characterized by an ever-increasing nightly attendance and with larger and larger altar calls, until the final evening, 500,000 people came to hear the word of God. The small army of personal workers was kept busy for hours each night handling the many con-verts until by week’s end an amazing 1,088,694 people had filled out the decision cards and were ushered into the church based follow-up system.

Evangelist Kolenda says, “we preach the full gospel which is all encompassing; salvation, healing, deliver-ance and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. In Scripture, the gospel is never mere doctrine, abstract thought, but always takes shape in some vivid mercy …”

Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and those who live should no longer live for themselves.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

A tiny one-year-old baby had been unable to sit until God touched her during the crusade.

Nearly 100,000 pastors and church leaders attended the Fire Conference and were commissioned and anointed to reach the lost.

Miracles of Mercy

After each gospel message, prayer was offered up for the many thousands needing a healing touch from the Lord and right after the nightly prayer, hundreds streamed toward the platform to testify about their healings. One such healing was a tiny 1-year-old baby that had been una-ble to sit until tonight, and she made the crowd roar with joy as she sat upright all by herself for the very first time.

Another healing happened to a 7-year-old boy, dumb from birth, who spoke for the first time. One woman had a tri-ple miracle – she was healed of a skin infection, malaria, and a crippled hand all at once! There was a mother who brought her three children as a testimony to her healing. Before the 2001 Ibadan crusade, she was totally barren. She was healed and conceived that same month.

Holy Spirit Fire

The Fire Conference for registered delegates took place each morning starting at 7 a.m. This conference for ministers and church workers resulted in a mighty outpouring of the power of the Holy Spirit. The huge gathering of just under 100,000 delegates received many inspiring messages from the ministry team and wonderful baptism where the entire group received an impartation to serve and do great things for God in their villages and towns.

The lost had been saved, the sick healed, the oppressed set free and the Lord’s people motivated and empowered to go out and ‘do the work,’ making it a mighty explosion of the power of God in Ibadan.
