human and animal health.

The AALAS Foundation is aSeparate 501(c) 3 Organization

• In 1999 the AALAS Foundation recognized the need to separate from AALAS to focus on charitable activities, achieve more visibility, and raise the comfort level of prospective donors

• By becoming a separate 501(c) 3 organization, the Foundation Board has sufficient independence to permit originality, creativity and sound management of its endeavors

• At the same time, the Board can ensure that their activities are not at cross purposes with those of AALAS.

What Does the Foundation Do?

• The future of our profession and biomedical science depends on promoting the benefits of biomedical research through public outreach and training.

With your donations, we fund:• The development of projects, educational materials, web-

based public information resources, training, and other innovative efforts.

• These items help educate the public, students, and our friends and children about the importance of quality laboratory animal care, research, and medicine.
