Sailing.hr 2013 – Cherish Every Moment!

There are really funny ways how life takes you to some places. Path that brought us to Sailing.Hr is on first sight coincidence, but just as we set sail it was obvious that this is going to be adventure of a lifetime.

Only 1 week, 4 islands, 40 boats, over 400 people and thousands of memories. All of us that were there last year, we all lived for that one week of pure hedonism that will keep us vivid until next summer. Story starts with something like this.

Immediately when you get to Split you can smell that salty Mediterranean air. As you check in and find your boat you can start to explore your surroundings. Split offers you great fish restaurants and various sorts of vines in 1700 years old massive Diocletian palace.

Many great civilizations influenced Dalmatia and you can all see it when you are walking the streets. Citizens of Split are very friendly and there is proof for that. If you have never spent your holiday on boat, you don’t know what you are missing out. You just need to absorb good emotions and you need to see doors that are opening. Island Hvar is one of the best kept secrets of Mediterranean. You can take a walk to the fortress above the city. The sight will fascinate you. After that you can enjoy in relaxed dinner with lamb or octopus on menu.

“What you gonna do with the drunken sailor, early in the morning…”. Perfect song for that morning. But there is no rest, we sail to peaceful island of Vis. Because Vis has important strategic position, in WW2 it was closed for foreigners.

From city of Komiža or Vis, you can take military tour through labyrinths of underground tunnels and visit famous Tito’s cave. On the other hand if you like diving, you can choose from around 15 different locations with sunken ships, planes and war ships. Nights on island Vis are spiced up by some good parties in Aquarius Beach club or in Fort George (Fortica) in the middle of the woods.

Peak of this crazy adventure held place one again is Split. For the first time in Europe, Ultra Music Festival occupied the city and made football stadium throne of electronic music. 35 thousand people from 75 countries were screaming in delirium listening to beats of Carl Cox, Hardwell, Afrojack, Tiesto and Guetta. “This is like another side of the world, but they managed. They rocked it, it was unbelievable! ” commented Armind van Burren.
