Weather will always be an issue where inflatables are used outside.

Operators are expected to monitor the wind by more than just relying upon online weather app. Anemometers are not prohibitively expensive and provide a specific up to date localised measure.

Returns overall:

• 90% response rate• Letters sent to 32 non responding LA Chief Executives

Content Review:

• 101 returns identified as potential “outliers”• 60% resolved via conversation with PF / HELA• 33 LA’s contacted by HSE• 8 formal letters sent to Chief Executives

Evaluation

Main reasons for outliers:

• Staffing issues• Structural changes• IT problems• Major incidents• Local priorities• Reporting errors• No inspection warranted

2018 / 19 LAE1 returns

• No change to LAE1 format• Survey will open on Monday 1st April 2019• Closes end of May

• Will be following up returns again• HSE will contact LA’s in first instance this time• Remember the comments box…
