Instructions to set your computer/laptop to automatic correct Grammar Style.

Open Microsoft Word

Click on the Office Symbol in the top left corner of our monitor. See the top circle.

Click on the Word Options button See the circle at the bottom.

This screen should pop up. Go to the Proofing tab on the left, then the Auto Correct radio button. Both with circles.

On the Auto Corrections Screen make sure all blocks have a check in them. Under the replace your text as you type section, under Replace type the word soldier (lower case), under the with column type in (Upper Case) the word Soldier. Repeat this procedure for single and plural for Soldier and Family.

Once you have completed that go back to the proofing page, then to the Writing Style column. To the right is a drop down arrow and select “Grammar and Styles”, go to the right again and push the setting button. See circle below.

Under the “Required” all three should state, “don’t check”

Under the Grammar column, all fields should have a check mark in the block EXCEPT “Use of first person”. It should not have a check mark in the block. See the circle below.

Click the OK button all the way out.
