The placement of a vehicle’s head restraint is critical to mitigating common soft-tissue neck injuries that often result from a collision. In 1995, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) in collaboration with Rona Kinetics of North Vancouver, commissioned the �rst Head Restraint Measuring Device or HRMD to provide an accurate and repeatable method to measure head restraint position. Today they are an integral tool to comply with motor vehicle regulations around the world.

In 2015 HRMD was incorporated to stream-line customer service with a one stop shop for the following:

1) Supply of new HRMD’s 2) Re-calibration of existing systems 3) Repair of HRMD’s 4) Calibration of HRMD’s together with the SAE J-826 Manikin per VDA 304 and EuroNCAP-Gloria

We have worked alongside both ICBC and Rona Kinetics in the production of re�nement of the HRMD since the product’s inception. We have manufactured over 500 HRMD’s to date; they can be found in car manufacturers, seat suppliers, testing, research and design facilities spanning the globe.

The HRMD is available with either a polished or sandblasted (matte) �nish on the head form. Our redesigned shipping/storage trunk is now lighter and has integrated wheels. This not only reduces shipping costs but it is also much easier to maneuver.
