Definition:
Job health and safety is protecting the safety, health and overall welfare of employees at a particular company or institution. The goal of most workplace health and safety programs is to promote a safer work environment for employees.
It also includes training of personnel in accident prevention, accident response, emergency preparedness, and use of protective clothing
Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the OSHA was developed in 1970 to oversee workplace safety and health. Today, it protects over 100 million workers and 6.5 million employers. OSHA has over 2,000 inspectors, as well as many other employees in greater than 200 offices in the United States.
OSHA mission:The mission of the Occupational Safety
and Health Administration (OSHA) is to save lives, prevent injuries and protect the health of America's workers. To accomplish this, federal and state governments must work in partnership with the more than 100 million working men and women and their six and a half million employers who are covered by the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.

Brief History:This firm was established in 1979 mainly with objective of serving the local construction industry. Anticipating the immense potential of local marble and dimension stone, the partners decided to promote Pakistani marble and other stone in international market, for this new state of art machinery was imported in 1993. Since than the processes of constantly upgrading machinery and adding new capacity to plant is part of regular policy of the firm.
MISSION:

Major problems:1. Machinery problems: mostly workers
are uneducated and don’t know the well use of machines that cause injury.
2. Lack of protective equipment: protecting equipments are most important for working people. Selection and use of PPE requires careful consideration, as there are many different types that reduce the risk of injury of contact or exposure to a hazard. absence of these equipment are cause injury.
3. Lighting problems:
Light play very important role in any business. without light we can’t do any work. poor lighting is not only effect the health bus also cause symptoms like eyestrain,migrain,and headaches. In the kohsar industries employees work in dim light which is a big hazard for eyes.
4. Noise problem:Noise is one of the most common
occupational health hazard. In the kohsar industry permanent hearing loss is the main health concern. Excessive noise damages the hair cells in the cochlea, part of the inner ear, leading to loss of hearing

important for any organization. Safety in the work place is a big deal. The employees have the right to be safe from hazards in the work place and employer have the obligation to provide protective measure to maintain their safety.
Recommendation:The company has to create the
awareness for the workers regarding health and safety.
It is better to provide frequent health and safety training, at least once in a year.
The management has to take necessary steps to reduce the stress level of the workers.
Orientation programs can be conducted to make the workers to feel that their work environment is safe to work.
