Dear families and friends I hope you have been able to be outdoors enjoy the beautiful days this week. Education Week: Families and friends are warmly invited to join us for our 2018 Education Week celebrations next Tuesday 7 August. We will be commencing our day at 9.30am with the Tabloid Sports Day, where students will engage in a variety of activities, accruing points for their sporting house. Our Education Week Assembly will follow and then we will all enjoy a delicious sausage sizzle! Just a reminder that there will be a prize for the best dressed supporter for each house. Hope to see you there! Staff Car Park: Thank you to everyone who has assisted by not using the staff car park as a ‘kiss and drop’ area. There is a significant amount of traffic around the entrance to the car park of a morning, which impacts on cars and buses trying to exit the school. I would ask that you do not use the car park during those peak times. Families and friends are encouraged to ‘join the cue’ of Assisted Travel vehicles during pick up times to avoid having to find a park. Mornings between 8:50am – 9:00am is a time where there should not be a lot of waiting. Afternoon pickup is between 2:30pm – 3:00pm. Thank you for your assistance in this matter, if you would like to discuss this matter in further detail, please do not hesitate to contact me. Leuca visits the Classroom: Our PBL mascot Leuca has been very busy this week spending time in Room 10 and Hub C. Each week the positive behaviour notifications are tallied and two PBL Class of the Week Awards are presented. During the week, Leuca assists with the PBL Lesson of the Week. Leuca is very popular with all students and having him in class is a wonderful motivator. Well done everyone! Teacher of the Week Term 3—Week 2 PBL Teacher and SLSO of the Week: PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) is a whole school program which recognises the work of all school members. Each week, the positive notifications are tallied and the teacher and SLSO with the greatest number of positive entries are awarded Teacher and SLSO of the Week. The philosophy of this initiative is for staff to recognise the positive behaviour in young people. Week 2 Teacher of the Week was Tash from Hub C. Great work everyone! Congratulations to Tash from Room 6 for being ‘Teacher of Week’ Term 3—Week 2
