    Printer paper input trays

    Rear paper input tray

    The paper input tray located closest to the back of thup to 125 sheets of 20 lb. paper or it can hold multip

    Printer paper guides

    HP LaserJet printers produce excellent print quality

    Loading paper into the printer

    Paper should be loaded with the top down and the s

    facing forward. Always adjust the paper guides to pskewing.

    CAUTION Attempting to print on paper that is wrinkled, folded, oway may cause a jam to occur. See Printer paper s

    Note Always remove all paper from the paper input trathe stack when new paper is added. This helps psheets of paper from feeding through the printer at reduces paper jams. See the sticker which you placwhile setting up the hardware.

    Turning the power off

    Printers that require 100-127 volts of power must be

    Printer properties control the printer and allow you tsettings, such as paper size, printing on both sides (manual duplexing), printing multiple pages on a sin(N-up printing), resolution, watermarks, and printer access the printer properties in two ways:

    q Through the software application from which yo(Change settings for current software applicatio

    q Using the Windowsoperating system. (Changfor all future print jobs.)

    Printing a self-test page

    Among other items, a self-test page provides all of t

    configuration settings, scanner attachment verificatthe print quality, and provides information for printerwell as scan and copy page counts. A self-test pageyou verify the printer is printing correctly.

    To print a self-test page, press and release the Goprinter control panel while the printer is in the Read

    Only use transparencies recommended for use in la

    Only use labels recommended for laser printers, suc

    labels. See Printer paper specifications.

    CAUTION Do not use labels that are separating from the backinor damaged in any way. Do not feed a sheet of labels ttwice. The adhesive backing is designed for one paprinter. Also, do not use continuous feed labels or lamoisture to stick.

    Printing with manual feed

    Use manual feed when printing mixed media; for exenvelope, then a letter, then an envelope, and so foenvelope in the single sheet paper input tray and lothe multiple-page paper input tray. Also, use manuayour privacy when printing to a network printer.

    To print using manual feed, you must access the prprinter setup in your software application and selec

    from the Source drop down list. See Printer propertthe setting has been enabled, you must press the Geach time to print.

    To print on both sides of the paper (manual duplexinthe paper through the printer twice. You can print usoutput bin or the straight-through output path. HP rethe paper output bin for light-weight paper. Use the output path for any heavy media or media that tendprinted, such as envelopes and card stock.
