Noah Carpenter and Elizabeth 'Bet' Howrigan - "Students Taking Action for Improved Nutrition and Physical Activity at School -- with Fuel Up to Play 60"

Bet Howrigan is a 30-year educator, and has always believed that physical activity, good nutrition and doing well in school go together.

Noah Carpenter is a 7th grader at Fairfield Center School in Fairfield, Vermont. Noah was named the Vermont State Student Ambassador for Fuel Up to Play 60 and attended a leadership summit with Ambassadors from across the country in July 2013.

As we understand more about what defines good nutrition for youth, we are also increasingly understanding the importance of instilling healthy eating habits for youth in the context of family, school, and sport. This varied panel covers major topics within this under-considered but important area of youth development.
