“For Ireland I’ll Not Tell Her Name”by Bagpiper Joss Fisher

I am the resurrection and the life, saith the Lord;he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live;and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth; and though this body be destroyed, yet shall I see God; whom I shall see for myself and mine eyes shall behold, and not as a stranger.

For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For if we live, we live unto the Lord; and if we die, we die unto the Lord. Whether we live, therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord; even so saith the Spirit, for they rest from their labors.

Message

The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who have trespassed against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen

Howard Clarence Juckett of Beaumont, Texas, was born August 8, 1948, in Dover, New Jersey, and crossed the finish line of a good life on Oct. 30, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Howard grew up with four unique brothers in the farm country of Succasunna, New Jersey. At a very early age, his brother, Ed, put him on a motorcycle and off road enduros and desert racing became a lifelong passion. He has a long resume of state, national and international level off road motorcycling, including five

Baja 500 finishes, a 4th place, class 40 Baja 1000 finish and a 9th place Ironman Nevada 1000 finish. He was a multiple ISDE Qualifier as well. Enduros were a perfect fit as endurance was one of Howard’s many qualities. He loved to ride.

Howard graduated from Roxbury High School, Succasunna, New Jersey, in 1967. He attended Seton Hall University and Lamar University. He enlisted in the Army during the final years of the Vietnam War and was diagnosed with cancer while in service. His treatment at Walter Reed Army Hospital saved his life but led to decades of other health challenges.

He fought through them all, including open heart surgery, heart valve replacement, a heart transplant on Christmas Eve of 2007 – bless you Chelsea – and multiple cancer diagnoses and surgeries. Howard never gave in to his pains and health problems. Every recovery was amazing but didn’t surprise anyone who knew him. A successful kidney transplant was performed on Oct. 1, 2018. Unfortunately, complications occurred that he was unable to overcome.

Howard made friends everywhere he went and maintained friendships from grade school until yesterday. He loved his work and friends at Mercedes Benz, both old and new, and at Cowboy Honda.

He was preceded by his parents, Howard D. and Louise Mercer Juckett, and brothers Edward, John and Larry Juckett.

We give special thanks to the physicians and caregivers we have encountered during these many years, especially Dr. Alfred Brady, Dr. Reynolds Delgado III, the late Dr. Rod Anderson, Dr. Jeremy Huff, Doug McMakin and staff, the extraordinary ICU nurses and physicians at St. Luke’s Hospital 6 Cooley A, expressly Samee. And, our Jason’s Deli family.
