"How-to guide for WebMail 2020" – Guidelines for receiving and replyingto encrypted emails from the Daimler group

The following document applies to all businesspartners, dealers, and their customers who havereceived an encrypted e-mail from a Daimler AG[1]

corporate employee.

In order to comply with the increased securitystandards of the Daimler group, emails with sensitive content will in future only be sent in encrypted form. Using WebMail, you can easily and securely read, edit, and send encrypted emails.

1. Registering on WebMail

This is the first time a Daimler employee has sent youan encrypted email. To read this email, you must firstregister on WebMail.

You will automatically receive a registration email fromus. To register, you need a one-time password, whichyou can request with this email. Click the link "Request one-time password now".

Please note that the link only works one time.

The one-time password will then be sent to you in a separate email.

Once you have received the one-time password, click the "Register now" link, enter the one-time password and click "Confirm".

In the second step, you enter your first and last nameand set your personal password so that you can log into WebMail at any time in the future.

Now you can log in to WebMail with your personal password to read encrypted e-mails from Daimler employees, as well as to reply to them in encryptedform.

After successful registration, you should find the first encrypted email sent to you by your Daimler contact in your mailbox.

You can use WebMail at any time to read and send encrypted emails easily and securely.

Sending an encrypted email

Via WebMail, you can send encrypted e-mailsexclusively to employees of Daimler AG[1]. Click "New email" to create a new email.

Every message sent via WebMail is automaticallyencrypted.

2.1 Sending and receiving encrypted emails

Receiving an email

All encrypted emails sent to you by Daimler employees can now be accessed via your WebMailuser account.

If you have an OpenPGP key or an S/MIME certificate, you can also access encrypted emails via your usualemail account, e.g., in Outlook.

To do this, you can answer the first message receivedby WebMail with an email, in which you can attachyour OpenPGP key or sign with your S/MIME certificate.

If you already registered on WebMail, you can adjustthe settings accordingly: on the "Account Overview" tab under "Certificates" you can import your S/MIME certificate or PGP key.

After successful import, all encrypted messages aresent directly to your inbox.

2.2 Receiving encrypted emailsdirectly without WebMail

We store your emails for a maximum of 180 days. All messages older than 180 days will be automatically deleted. Therefore, please download important emails and save them locally

You can export your emails in .eml or .pdf format and save them locally.
