How to Win an Award
Always understand the judges’ situation. They
are more than likely volunteering their time…
…and will often have little, if any, knowledge of your products or services, markets & technologies
So, ensure your entry is clear & concise, as little time will be allocated to the process!
Remember, it’s the entry that’s judged…
The judges will rely on the entry to determine the shortlist & select the winner…
So explain the need for your product or service, clearly emphasising why it is better than alternative solutions…
Be direct, don’t expect judges to read between the lines…
Always include clear language to emphasise
the impact your product/service has made on the market
Vague claims will be interpreted as an indication that the product isn’t all that good, so back up any statements with evidence & statistics!
Don’t lose for silly reasons, like failing to be within the word count or sending your entry after the closing date
Ultimately, don’t be shy in asking for the award & convincing the judges why your
entry should win!
