What is Dropbox?


It is a cloud storage provider that helps you


Store files whatever they are


And access them anytime, wherever you

are!


Isn’t it awesome? Take your files anywhere you

go!


How Does It Work?


Dropbox creates a special folder on all your devices.


Anytime you need to save a file


Drag it into the folder


And it will appear in the same folders


On all your other devices



It is also easy to share files with others


By sending the link of a file or folder.


How to Get Dropbox


Open your browser


Type www.dropbox.com



First we have to create an account


Enter your First Name


Enter your Last Name


Enter your Email


Enter your Password


Check I agree to Dropbox Terms


Click Sign up for free


This page telling Dropbox is downloading appears


When downloading is done, click the installer


Click Open


A user account control pop-up notification appears


Click Yes


Dropbox installer pop-up notification appears



After installation, you will see this in your screen


Notice the dropbox icon added to your notification bar


Click Open my Dropbox Folder


A notification tells that your computer is linked to Dropbox


Dropbox has automatically placed this file on your

dropbox folder


To begin, I want to add this folder to dropbox


Just drag it to Dropbox Folder


It is now added to my dropbox folder


Notice the blue circle with rotating arrows


This means Dropbox is currently syncing


Green circle with check means Dropbox is fully synced


Let’s go back to Dropbox Home on the web


Click Get Started


Earn additional 250MB, complete at least 5 of these

steps


Click your name to view settings


Click Settings


Edit your Profile here


If you want to upgrade your 2GB account


and get 1TB storage, click Upgrade now


A fee of $9.99 per month or $99 per year


is needed to upgrade your Dropbox account


Now, let’s click Account


Here you can see your available dropbox space


Earn additional 500MB by inviting a friend, click here


Connect your Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Yahoo Mail here


Click Security


Change Security settings here


Click here to go back to Dropbox Homepage


Click Verify your email


Click Verify my email


Dropbox will ask you to check your email


Log-on to your email account


Find and open the email from Dropbox


Click on this to verify your email


Your Dropbox account is now verified


Click Done


Click Share a Link


To share a folder, click Share


There are two ways of sharing a file



Let’s try to invite people to collaborate, click this


Enter the email address of the person you are inviting


You can also type a message here


Click Share Folder


See how the folder of the shared file changed


Let’s try sharing by sending a link


Click Share


Click Send Link


This is the link to the folder


Enter email address to whom you like to share the link


You can type a message here


Click Send


To upload a file, click here


Click Choose Files


Select the file or files you want to upload


Click Open


The files are now being uploaded to Dropbox


The files are now uploaded in Dropbox


Check the Dropbox folder on your computer



Your files are both synced in the computer and online

To create New Folder, Click this


Enter the Name of the Folder


Click Create Folder


New Folder is created


You can also share a folder by clicking this


When you right click a file, these options appear


To comment on a file, Click Comment


Type your comment here


Click Post


To delete a file, Right Click


Click Delete


Confirm delete by clicking Delete


To rename a file, Right Click


Click Rename


Type the new name for the File



To see the recent changes in your Dropbox, click Events



To invite anyone to upload a file in your Dropbox


Click File Requests


Click Create A File Request


Enter the file you are requesting here


Click Next


Type email address of the person here


Click Send
