    1. Tell the person discriminating against you or

    harassing you to stop. -You may find it helpful to have a work colleague or trade union

    representative with you.

    2. Collect evidence. - keeping a diary or record of the time, date and location of any

    incidents.

    3. Tell your manager that someone is discriminating

    against you or harassing you because of your religion

    1 ) Write down what happened

    - dates, places, times, and possible witnesses to what happened- ask your co-workers to write down what they saw or heard

    - to keep the record at home or in some other safe place

    2 ) Start a paper trail

    - do in writing

    - describe the problem and how you want it fixed

    - make copy of everything

    3 ) Review your personal profile

    - have the right to request and receive copies of everything in your file

    that you have signed.

    4 ) Use the grievance procedure at work- look in your employee manual/personnel policies and/or speak to a

    human resources officer.

    5 ) Involve your union

    - file a formal complaint through the union- try to get a shop steward or other union official to help you work

    through this process.

    - Get a copy of your unions grievance policy

    - must first file a formal complaint of discrimination with the EEOC

    - If you are a federal employee, follow federal guidelines

    - if the employers process for dealing with the discrimination may nothelp,do not wait for it.
