HOW TO MAKE A MAGIC ROSE CUBE

You will need:

• 3 pieces of red square origami paper (10cmx10cm)• 3 pieces of green square origami paper (10cmx10cm)• Pair of scissors (optional)

Petal modules

Step 1:Start with the white side up. Fold in half then unfold.

Fold the outside edges into the center crease and then unfold.

Fold the top right-corner down to the crease shown, then unfold.

Step 2:

Rotate the paper. Fold the bottom left corner up to the crease shown, then unfold.

Fold left side in, along crease shown.

Step 3:

Rotate model 180 degrees, and fold left side of model along crease shown. Then bring point Aup to point B inside the model

Step 4:

Fold top layer along the creases shown, bringing point A down to point B and bringing the left side inwards at the same time.

This is what should it look like

Step 5:

Flip it over and fold the two triangles along the creases shown. Fold the bottom and the top along the creases shown, then unfold.

Step 6:

Repeat the petal module from step 1-5 three times. (You will need to make 3 petal modules)

Leaf modules

Step 1:

Repeat step 1 and 2 from the petal module.

Bring Point A down to point B, folding along the crease shown. Then fold left side in, along crease shown.

Step 2:

Rotate model 180 degrees ,then fold top left corner down along crease shown. Fold top triangle down along crease shown. Fold point A up to point B inside of the model.

Step 3:

Fold top layer along the creases shown, bringing point A down to point B and bringing the left side inwards at the same time. Flip it over and fold the bottom triangle upwards along crease shown.

Fold the bottom and the top and then unfold.

Step 4:

Repeat the leaf module from step 1-5 three times. (You will need to make 3 petal modules). You should now have 6 modules, 3 petals and 3 leaves.

Joining the 6 modules

Step 1:Insert the triangular end of one leaf module into the opening of another.Join the other module to the other 2 by inserting the triangular end, and then inserting the end of the 1st module into the last. Follow the arrows.

Step 2:For the petal modules: Insert thetriangular end of one module intothe opening of another. Join the other module to the other 2 by inserting the triangular end, and then inserting the end of the 1st module into the last.

Step 3:Now insert the pink group into the green group. Follow the arrows.

And your done! To open up the rose, slowly work the pink petals out from the 3 diagonal joins and the centre, and you can open up the leaves too if you wish.
