How to install both TEOS Connect Receiver 1.6 App and Meeting Room Applications on a Professional BRAVIA

Description This guide explains how to set-up your Professional BRAVIA with Android 8 to use both the Meeting Room Application (compatible with TEOS Manage) and TEOS Signage at the same time, on the same BRAVIA with Android 8.0.

Requirements

• A Professional BRAVIA with Android 8 (v6.650), connected to Internet

• An Internet access

• A USB key with Meeting Room Application (MRA) 1.0.3 on the root folder and TEOS Connect Receiver (ask your Sony representative for the download URL, the one from this February 2019 can be found here)

• During first settings of BRAVIA, select English as language and United Kingdom as country

• During the first settings of BRAVIA, Google location must be activated

Step-by-step process:

1. Enter the Pro Settings Mode by pressing on your remote control: " i+ / mute / vol+ / home"

The display reboots and shows the Pro Settings mode.

• Go to settings>network> Wifi direct and activate the Wi-Fi direct.

2. Go to Settings > Date & time > Automatic date & time • Select “use Network time”

3. Go to Settings> About> Build • Press 7 times in build option, developer mode will be unlocked

• Go to Settings > Developer mode and enable ADB debugging and “stay awake” option

4. Go to Settings > About > Automatic Software download

• Turn it to “Off”

5. Press “Home” and go to the pro settings

• Allow WebAppRunTime to access photos, media and files when the pop-up message appears

• Insert your USB drive with TEOS Connect Receiver.apk on it

• “Install APK” option in the BRAVIA pro setting menu will appear

• Install the TEOS Receiver App

6. Open “TEOS Connect Receiver” application. The first time the application is opened, you will see a

configuration page (used to start the TEOS Connect Receiver service). After that you can press home and follow the rest of the process.

7. Plug the USB key with MRA 1.0.3 application. An automatic message will appear.

• MRA 1.0.3 file (extapp_installer.pkg) must be in the root of your USB stick.

• Agree the license and install the application.

The app asks for reboot, validate. The monitor reboots in pro mode.

Configure the meeting room applications settings

After reboot is complete, a page with the Meeting Room Interface settings should be visible. In case you need to access these settings again, you can press the play button of the remote control.

Change the last setting (web URL) by using remote control: • Address: http://127.0.0.1:9020/bg.html • Full Page (instead of none) • Press “OK” You will get the following message Site can't be reached, 127.0.0.1 refused to connect, just go in the next step

8. Go back to pro settings mode to finish the configuration of the BRAVIA with TEOS Connect

• Press i+>mute>vol+>home, the BRAVIA will reboot with “pro settings in process”

• Go to Home Pro Settings > Settings> apps and enable TEOS Connect Receiver App

9. Go to Developer Option:

• Enable Power State Control by app

• Enable Web Apps installation

10. Go pro settings>start-up services • Activate “Remote firmware update Service” (useful for TEOS firmware upgrade

management for example)

When activating “remote firmware update service” an automatic message appears to make the installation of the app, follow the installation points and reboot the device.

11. Go to home and open TEOS Connect App

• Enter the name of the device and input the license code. Press the save button. The app will check the license and show the first passcode for the mirroring. The registration of the app is complete. If you get an error message, please refer to the FAQ below.

12. Go to pro settings and activate pro mode

The BRAVIA will reboot and show the TEOS Connect interface

Your Professional BRAVIA is now configured for TEOS Connect receiver app and Meeting Room Application (MRA).

FAQ Q. I can't access the pro settings mode? A. On the remote-control press 'Info [i+] -> Mute ->Vol + -> Home' in order within 3 seconds. If It Is not working you must try again. The BZ35F series introduced “Pro mode tool” listed in the home menu. This tool encourages customers to recognize the presence of “Pro mode” and give it a try without any training from Sony.

Q. In the IP control section, I can't select "none" for the authentication. A. In this case you are probably not in the pro settings mode. If you are in pro settings, a blue bar with the message "pro settings in process" must be shown in the upper side of the BRAVIA. Q. The display Is still showing the blue line with "pro settings in process". A. Go to pro settings and "start pro mode". the BRAVIA will reboot. Q. TEOS Connect Is showing me the following error when I try to register the license: Q1: Failed reading TV serialnr: IP control returned status 403. Please enable and set authentication to None A1: The IP control settings are not correct (In home>settings>network>home network settings>IP control, authentication must be to NONE and IP control to ON), or the BRAVIA Is not in pro mode after the IP control configuration. Please check the IP control settings and BRAVIA in pro mode. Q2: License not valid or already in use A2: In that case verify that the license number Is the correct one. If It Is, please contact Sony PrimeSupport Q3: Cannot reach license server A3: Verify the Internet access on the BRAVIA. If you have Internet access but you are still getting the error message, please contact Sony PrimeSupport Q: Meeting room Interface Is showing me the following message: Q1: Site can't be reached, 127.0.0.1 refused to connect A1: This message means that the TEOS Connect license is not registered. Please go back to pro settings, open TEOS Connect App and register the license with Internet access. Q2: Site can't be reached, cannot resolve the address A2: Press the play button In the Meeting Room application to go back into the settings and verify the weburl link: http://127.0.0.1:9020/bg.html
