How to Increase Internal Memory?
What is Internal Memory?
• Internal Memory, comprises of many circuit types including RAM, ROM, Flash ROM, EPROM and EEPROM, is a volatile component in your computing system where the stored data is lost once you shut down your machine.
What is Internal Memory?
• If your computer doesn't have adequate internal memory and is running out of memory for daily use, here are some of the best ways to expand it without needing to buy a new RAM.
Stop CPU-Intensive Processes
• Heavy CPU intensive processes and services consume a lot of internal memory.
• Although a good processor will reasonably run your apps very well, some processes and services demand a lot of RAM allocation.
Stop CPU-Intensive Processes
• Type Task Manager in the Search Box on the Taskbar.
• Click More details icon on bottom.• End unnecessary tasks from the
Processes tab. (Select a process > End Task)
Stop CPU-Intensive Processes
• Disable unnecessary startup items. Select a startup item, click Disable.
• Stop Non-Microsoft services. Right-click a service under the Services tab, choose Stop.
Disable Automatic Paging
• The Paging File which is used for crash dumps, is typically system-managed.
• When you're running low on internal memory, set higher paging file size by configuring the Virtual Memory options.
Disable Automatic Paging
• Right-click This PC icon on Desktop.• Click Advanced system settings.• Click Settings under Advanced >
Performance.• Click Advanced tab again.• Click Change under Virtual
Memory.
Disable Automatic Paging
• Uncheck the box labelled Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
• Select your system drive.• Is your default selection set to
System managed size? Select Custom option.
Disable Automatic Paging
• Specify a higher paging file size.• Click OK thrice, and restart your
computer.
Clean Up Disk Space
• Disk CleanUp, a maintenance utility that deletes files no longer needed and reclaims disk space, can be very useful here.
Clean Up Disk Space
• Type Disk CleanUp in the Search Box on the Taskbar.
• Select a drive you intend to clean-up.• Click OK.• Disk analysis process will start.
Clean Up Disk Space
• Now you have list of all files to delete. Check all the items.
• Click OK.
Activate ReadyBoost
ReadyBoost, a disk catching feature, uses a pen drive to improve overall system performance. The feature, which is most commonly used on computers with significantly lower RAM memory, accelerate internal memory performance.
Activate ReadyBoost
• Connect a USB flash drive to your computer.
• The AutoPlay feature will prompt you to take an action.
• Click the Speed up my system icon.
