How To Get Your Employees on Your Team

Page 2: How To Get Your Employees On Your Team

A business can fail or succeed on the back of itsemployees. A strong core can support otherweaknesses, and a motivated staff can pull acompany through hardship where other assets

cannot.

So how do you get your employees to put in their allfor you? How do you light the same fire for success

in them that you have for your business?

Page 4: How To Get Your Employees On Your Team

Focus on them: Employees who feel cared for andsupported will take care of your inventory. They willtake care of your customers. They will take care ofyour brainstorming. Take care of the wellbeing of

your employees, they will take care of your businessin turn.

Care about what they care about: Don’t be aworkplace where everyone feels replaceable, because then your employees will always be

hedging their bets and no one will give it 100%. Talkto them with respect. Give them the ability to take apersonal day without asking why. Invite everyone to

go out after work. Ask for feedback.

Give meaningful incentives: More and more studiesare showing that money is not the most motivatingincentive. Ordering in a lunch for the team with thehighest sales, giving a paid Friday so your staff canhave an extra three day weekend if the companysurpasses the output goals for the month, or a

catered breakfast the morning after your IT teampulls an allnighter to update your system are all

meaningful ways of showing appreciation.

Page 7: How To Get Your Employees On Your Team

Be honest with them: Share not just measurablegoals for productivity, share your dreams for thecompany. Share the heart of the business. Share

why you run this business the way you do. Everyonewants to feel like they are a part of something

special., so tell them why you think they ARE a partof something special.

Page 8: How To Get Your Employees On Your Team

Openly communicate both ways: You have a hugeresource in your staff. You have people that workwith customers or inventory every day. You have

people that know the nittygritty of what works andwhat doesn’t. Listen to the feedback. Ask for input.Acknowledge the good ideas, and make sure thatthe whole company knows it came from a fellow

employee.
