Detroit International Jazz Festival ParkingThose attending the Detroit International Jazz Festival are encouraged to park in the Joe Louis Arena parking structure, Cobo Center parking structure or other downtown lots surrounding the festival area.

Frequently Asked QuestionsQ. If I can’t park on Belle Isle, can I park near Belle Isle and walk to the Grand Prix?

A. There is no sanctioned Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix parking available near Belle Isle. Public parking should occur at the Downtown and Suburban Park and Ride lots

only. It is not recommended to park near the island and walk to the Grand Prix. Illegal parking will be strictly prohibited.

Q. If a group is taking a private bus to the Grand Prix, can passengers be dropped off on the island?

A. No. Non-official, non-credentialed buses will be directed to drop its passengers off near the Detroit Naval Armory (approximately three blocks east of the bridge) and then the passengers will be able to walk onto the island.

Q. If I want to visit Belle Isle’s other amenities on the part of the island not involved with the Grand Prix, can I drive on the island?

A. Yes. Those wishing to drive to other attractions on Belle Isle will be directed away from the Grand Prix area by security personnel as they drive onto the island. Grand Prix parking will NOT be permitted on Belle Isle without proper credentials.

How To Get To The Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix$5 parking is available at designated garages and surface lots in the Foxtown District.The round-trip shuttles will pick-up passengers from the following Foxtown District locations. These locations will be easily identified by tents and a Grand Prix balloon.

1 The Opera House – Broadway St. and Witherell St.2 Behind the Fox Theatre – Clifford St. and Montcalm St.3 In front of Comerica Park – Montcalm St. and Woodward Ave.4 Next to Comerica Park – E. Montcalm St. and John R St.

The normal routes for public transportation providers, including DDOT, SMART Bus and the Detroit People Mover, will remain in effect during the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix and the Detroit International Jazz Festival.

If you are parking in another location in Downtown Detroit and wish to ride the Grand Prix shuttles to Belle Isle, it is recommended to take the Detroit People Mover to the Broadway station and board the Opera House shuttle.
