After you log-into your community as the community moderator, click the “Community Activity” tab.

Create

Two choices - choose the method you prefer

Either choose a tweet from your feed that’s related to your discussion topic to use as a reference/inspiration tweet. Then click “Turn into a discussion”.

or

Simply click the “Create Discussion” button to create a discussion without a reference/inspiration tweet.

Upload Your Content

Choose the “Discussion” radio button.

Click “Create New” project and give this Tweetcast a project. Think of this as a category. For example: Marketing Topics

Upload a photo as a thumbnail to visually promote this Tweetcast.3

Write the Discussion Title. For example: Join our Twitter discussion about ____. What do you think, and what would you do about this topic?

Provide a more in-depth description. Perhaps a single paragraph to help frame what this discussion is about and why.

Optional - Add hashtags that people can voluntarily append to their tweets.

Click “Continue” to proceed to next step.

Upload Your Rich Media & Share/Embed Links

Click “Choose files” to start uploading jpgs, gifs, or png’s from your desktop. These are the images that will be attached and presented on your discussion page.

Paste any web share link from YouTube or Vimeo if you want to share as a part of your discussion.

All of these attachments will be available for your followers to click through and view right on your discussion page.

Upload Attachments to share as a part of your Twitter discussion

Enrich your discussions by uploading rich-media to share with your Twitter followers. Images (jpg, png, gif) or even videos by pasting the “Share” links from Youtube and Vimeo.

Preview and Publish

You’re now looking at a preview of your discussion page and there is one final thing to do before this page is published and available.

Simply look over your copy and attachments to make sure you have everything and there aren’t any typos. Otherwise click the grey “Edit” buttons to make any revisions to text or attachments.

Compose a new tweet in the “Notify followers” box. This is the tweet that will go outbound to help promote this event. Leave the link as is since it’s the link your followers will need to click on to view and join the event.

A good tweet should cover the context of your discussion topic and a call to action to join via the link or reply to your Tweet from Twitter.

Click “Publish” to make the page available to your followers. The outbound tweet will also be sent out to your followers.

Discussion Page

You can easily compose new tweets to send to all of your followers by using our built-in “Promote Your Discussion” module.

Tweet with your followers by using the “Leave a comment” box to post new tweets to this discussion thread.

As a moderator, your discussions will always show additional functionality such as the “Embed” button to access widgets and the “Edit” button to makes changes at any time.

The shortened URL is optional. Including this in your tweet helps others on Twitter find your Nest.

*Our technology will automagically pull the following tweets into your discussion pages from Twitter.

Click any suggested #Hashtag to append them to the tweet that you are composing.

1.) Tweets that include the “URL” no matter where they were published from.

2.) All tweets that are replies to your “Publish New Discussion” tweet, “Promote Discussion” tweet, and any “Comment” tweet published from your Nest using your main community account handle.

Advanced Moderation Features

Use the “Quote and Edit” to RT anyone in the feed

Feel free to click “Highlight” if you would like highlight a certain tweet from the discussion thread. Highlight feature adds a background color on their tweets so they stand out from the others.

Click the “Remove” link if anything inappropriate or offensive appears.
