Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 provides an integrated solution for managing your time and information, connecting across boundaries, and remaining in control of the information that reaches you. Quickly search your communications, organize your work, and better share your information with others. Configuring Microsoft Outlook on your desktop can be done by following these steps:

1. Click Start, then Settings and then select Control Panel.

2. Once in the Control Panel, click on Mail

3. When the Mail window appears, click on Add…

4. Enter the Profile Name which is the name of the user. Write your full name. Then click OK.

5. When the Add New E-mail Account window appears, simply check the Manually

configure server settings or additional server types box. You can then click Next.

6. Select Microsoft Exchange in the Add New E-mail Account window and then click Next.

7. In the Microsoft Exchange Server edit box, type msmail2.uottawa.o.univ

8. Make sure the Use Cached Exchange Mode option is checked

9. In the User Name edit box, type in your Exchange Account user name (in lowercase and no

spaces and without @uottawa.ca). You can then click on More Settings…

10. Click OK to the window message: Outlook cannot log on.

11. Click OK at the Microsoft Exchange window.

12. Select the Security tab, check the Encryption and User identification options.

13. Select the Connection tab and then check the option Connect to Microsoft

Exchange using HTTP. You can then click on Exchange Proxy Settings…

14. In the Exchange Proxy Settings window, make sure that all check boxes are selected.

15. In the https:// edit box, type mail.uottawa.ca

16. In the Principal name for proxy server edit box, type msstd: mail.uottawa.ca

17. Change the Proxy Authentication Settings to Basic Authentication.

18. You can then click OK.

19. Click Apply and then OK to close the Microsoft Exchange Server window.

20. Click on the Check Name button. At the msmail2 login window, the User name should read uottawa\username. If not, just type it in. Enter your Password and then click OK to log in.

21. At the E-mail Account window, click on Next to finish. 22. Click Yes to the window message: Mail from this Microsoft Exchange Server

account… Do you wish to continue?

23. At the E-mail Account window, click Finish.
