FOLLOW THESE STEPS I TOOK TO BE A CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER:

1. Look for a notice about the first meeting 2. Attend the first meeting 3. Fill out activity fee and sports physical 4. Fill the team expectations form from the coach 5. Run and participate in daily practices 6. Run hard and represent Edsel Ford in a high

school meet 7. Repeat until the end of the season. 8. Pat yourself on the back for a seasonal

completion.

1. LOOK FOR A NOTICE ABOUT THE FIRST MEETING

Listen to announcements or the school bulletin for a notice about participating in the Edsel Ford cross country team. This is the first step to acknowledging and participating in the community.

2. ATTEND THE GROUP MEETING

Attend the first meeting, and learn about the rules and expectations of the running community. Meet new people who share your interest oif running. Realize the attendance is crucial in both the individual and the team.

3. FILL OUT ACTIVITY FEE AND SPORTS PHYSICAL

Fill out the necessary forms to ensure your participation can be official. Any member who wants to join must pay the activity fee set for Dearborn Public Schools.

4. FILL THE TEAM EXPECTATIONS FORM FROM THE COACH

Fill out the team expectations form, which details what you expect out of the discourse community, and the form allows the coach to adjust the sport to the team’s benefit.

5. RUN AND PARTICIPATE IN DAILY PRACTICES

Become an actual part of the community by running and becoming part of a team. Run all sorts of different workouts and eventually be a family like this picture to the right.

6. RUN HARD AND REPRESENT EDSEL FORD IN A HIGH SCHOOL MEET

Run in a meet, a competition between various high schools, and represent your school with hard determination.

7. REPEAT UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON.

Running is a cycle throughout the year, and constant running allows for active team participation and self-improvement from daily practices to weekly meets.

8. PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK FOR A SEASONAL COMPLETION

Congratulate yourself with the team on a job well done for the season and hope to come back for another season the next year.
