The Business Value of AnalyticsForecasting is NOT Data Mining or Predictive Modeling
Predictive modeling is predicting an outcome based on a given set of information.
Bottom line: Finding relationships in data.
Example: Out of 1000 emails sent 100 people will respond.
Forecasting uses time series data to model patterns across time to project future values.
Bottom line: Finding a trend over time.
Example: Forecast how many more call center employees will be need to handle increased volume due to 1000 emails being sent out.
