Arguilla was born in Barrio Naguilian in Bauang, La Union on

June 17, 1911

is an acclaimed Filipino short story writer as well as a

patriot and a guerrilla hero.

He studied at University of the Philippines where he finished BS

Education in 1993.

in English.

Arguilla secretly organized a guerrilla intelligence

unit against the Japanese.

In October 1944 at the age of 33,he was captured,
