We wanted to find out how much people knew about the diseases we were working on and asked friends and relatives to answer our questionnaire. We got 141 answers and were happy to find out that most people knew about the diseases and they also knew how to protect themselves against them.

Most of the people that answered our questionnaire were female.

Almost 70 % were younger than 21 years old.

Almost everybody knew that Ebola first appeared in Africa.

Only 55 % believed that Ebola can be cured.

Most people knew that anorexia nervosa is a psychological illness.

73 % believed that using insect repellents protect people from malaria. 23 % thought it would be enough to wash

their hands.

Most people knew that you can be infected by AIDS by blood transfusion.

Most people knew that using a condom can protect you from AIDS.

Almost everybody knew that tetanus is spread by an infection of a cut in the skin.
